TTC detours streetcars during Queen sewer repairs,
overnight, February 26 and 27



City of Toronto crews will be repairing the sewers under Queen Street East between Kingston Road and Coxwell Avenue overnight from 9 p.m. Tuesday, February 26 until 5 a.m. Wednesday, February 27.

The TTC is not operating streetcar service along the 301 Queen overnight and 501 Queen routes east of Connaught Avenue during the work.

Instead, it’s operating shuttle buses along Queen Street East between Neville Park Loop and River Street to replace the cars.

From 9 p.m. Tuesday, February 26 until 5 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, all westbound cars start their trips in the Russell (or “Connaught”) carhouse, with their first stop at Greenwood Avenue.

Westbound cars skip their regular stops

  • in Neville Park Loop,
  • on Queen Street East at Neville Park Boulevard, Silver Birch Avenue, Spruce Hill Road, Glen Manor Drive, Wineva and Lee Avenues, Waverly Road, Elmer and Woodbine Avenues, Lockwood and Kingston Roads, Coxwell Avenue and Kent Road and across from Connaught Avenue.

Eastbound cars operate along their regular route to Queen Street East and Greenwood Avenue, ending their trips.

(The cars loop through the Russell Carhouse before returning westbound along the route.)

Eastbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Queen Street East at Connaught, Woodward, Coxwell, Sarah Ashbridges, Woodbine and Kippendavie Avenues, Waverly Road, Lee and Wineva Avenues, Scarborough Beach Boulevard, Maclean, Beech and Silver Birch Avenues and Neville Park Boulevard and
  • in Neville Park Loop.

From 9 p.m. Tuesday, February 26 until 5 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, westbound buses start their trips in Neville Park Loop, then proceed:

westward along Queen Street East to River Street,
ending their trips.

(The TTC has not confirmed the route for buses when looping at River Street, but they likely proceed southward along River; then eastward along King Street East to Queen East.)

Westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • in Neville Park Loop,
  • on Queen Street East at Neville Park Boulevard, Silver Birch Avenue, Spruce Hill Road, Glen Manor Drive, Wineva and Lee Avenues, Waverly Road, Elmer and Woodbine Avenues, Lockwood and Kingston Roads, Coxwell Avenue, Kent Road, across from Connaught Avenue, at Greenwood and Alton Avenues, Leslie Street, Jones, Brooklyn, Pape, Carlaw and Logan Avenues, west of Booth Avenue, at Boulton and Broadview Avenues and Carroll and River Streets.

Eastbound buses start their trips on Queen Street East at Carroll Street, then proceed:

eastward along Queen Street East; and then
southward into Neville Park Loop,
ending their trips.
