Subway construction restricts traffic on The Pond Road,
starting February 11

TTC and City of Toronto contractors continue working on the project to extend the 1 Yonge - University - Spadina subway northwest from Downsview Station to York University and Vaughan.

Starting at 9 a.m. Monday, February 11, they’ll be restricting The Pond Road on York University’s Keele Campus to one lane between James Gillies and Keele Streets, while they install sanitary sewers. One lane will accommodate both directions of traffic. They’ll install traffic signals devices west of Keele and east of James Gillies to direct both directions of traffic.

The contractors expect to continue the lane restriction for about three weeks or until Sunday, March 3.

Traffic control personnel will help make sure pedestrians and vehicles move along The Pond Road during peak times. The work may delay motorists and transit passengers.

The sidewalk on the south side of The Pond Road will remain open. The sidewalk on the north side of The Pond Road will close for about three weeks.
