Brampton Transit made minor changes to its services, starting Monday, January 7


Brampton Transit is revising service along these route: 3 McLaughlin; 7 Kennedy; 18 Dixie; 23 Sandalwood; 25 Edenbrook; 200 Turner Fenton high school special; 201, 202, 203, 204 Mayfield high school special; 205 St. Thomas Aquinas high school special; 206 St. Augustine high school special; 207, 208 Mayfield high school special; 209 St. Augustine high school special; 210 Cardinal Leger high school special; 211 Chinguacousy high school special; 212 St. Roch high school special; 213 St. Edmund Campion high school special; 214 Cardinal Ambrozic high school special; 215 St. Thomas Aquinas high school special; 216 David Suzuki high school special; 501 Züm Queen; 502 Züm Main; 511 Züm Steeles.


Specifically, Brampton Transit is: canceling a branch of a route; increasing the frequency of service along routes; extending routes; resuming extra service to and from high schools; and adjusting the schedules of routes.


Canceling a branch of a route


23 Sandalwood

Friday, January 4 was the last day that Brampton Transit operated buses along the short-turn 23A branch of the route. Buses no longer start and end their trips at McVean Drive or operate along Lexington and Redwillow Roads.

Since the buses no longer short-turn, Brampton Transit is increasing the frequency of service along the route east of McVean Drive.

Increasing the frequency of service along routes


18 / 18A Dixie

Holiday service ends and regular service resumes, starting Monday, January 7. Buses again drop off or pick up passengers at stops south of Bovaird Drive East every 9 minutes, instead of every 10 minutes, Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.

Brampton Transit is also adjusting the schedule of the route.

7 / 7A Kennedy

Holiday service ends and regular service resumes, starting Monday, January 7. Buses again drop off or pick up passengers at stops south of Heart Lake Terminal every 7 to 8 minutes, instead of every 10 minutes, Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.

502 Züm Main

Holiday service ends and regular service resumes, starting Monday, January 7. Buses again drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route every 9 minutes, instead of every 10 minutes, Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.

511 Züm Steeles

Holiday service ends and regular service resumes, starting Monday, January 7. Buses again drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route every 7 minutes, instead of every 9 minutes, Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.


Extending routes


214 Cardinal Ambrozic high school special

Starting Monday, January 7, eastbound buses continue beyond Cardinal Ambrozic Catholic Secondary School before ending their trips.

Monday-to-Friday school days, the bus arrives on Castle Oaks Cross at The Gore Road, beside the high school, at 8:35 a.m. It then continues northward along the The Gore to Castlemore Road, ending its trip at 8:38 a.m.

Afternoon buses continue to operate along their usual route.

213 St. Edmund Campion high school special

Starting Monday, January 7, Brampton Transit extends the route southward from its usual terminal on Cresthaven Road south of Mayfield Road West.

Monday-to-Friday school days, westbound buses start their trips on Tournament Road north of Wanless Drive, then proceed:

northward along Tournament;
west- and northward along Cresthaven Road to Mayfield Road East,
resuming their regular route westward along Mayfield West.

The westbound bus leaves Wanless Drive east of Tournament Drive at 7:32 a.m. Monday-to-Friday school days. It ends its trip on Brisdale Drive north of Sandalwood Parkway West beside St. Edmund Campion Catholic Secondary School at 7:55 a.m.

Eastbound buses reverse the routing.

The eastbound bus leaves Brisdale north of Sandalwood West across from St. Edmund Campion at 2:25 p.m. It ends its trip on Tournament Drive north of Wanless Drive at 2:48 p.m.

Adjusting the schedules of routes


25 Edenbrook

Starting Monday, January 7, the southbound bus that usually leaves Wanless Drive west of Queen Mary Drive at 7:23 a.m. leaves three minutes earlier at 7:20 a.m. Mondays to Fridays. The bus serves stops along the route three minutes earlier than usually, ending its trip in Downtown Brampton Terminal at 8:17 a.m.

18 Dixie

Starting Monday, January 7, Brampton Transit makes minor changes to the Monday-to-Friday schedule.

Brampton Transit is also increasing the frequency of service along the route.

3 McLaughlin

Starting Monday, January 7, the northbound bus that usually leaves Brampton Gateway Terminal at 7 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, five minutes earlier at 6:55 a.m. The bus serves all stopa along the route five minutes earlier than usually, ending its trip in Heart Lake Terminal at 7:32 a.m. (The bus skips the Flower City Community Campus.)

23 Sandalwood

Starting Monday, January 7, Brampton Transit no longer operates buses along the 23A short-turn branch of the route. Instead, it’s increasing the frequency of service along the route east of McVean Drive.

Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops east of McVean every 15 minutes, instead of every 30 minutes, Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.
