Update — Tuesday, October 30, 6:10 a.m.: Service is operating normally this morning.
With rain continuing to threaten the city and surrounding areas, GO Transit is warning of possible flooding and submerged rail tracks along thr 61 Richmond Hill line between Union Station and Oriole GO Station tomorrow, Tuesday, October 30. GO staff will inspect the line before the morning service. If water covers the track, GO will decide before 5:30 a.m. whether to adjust service tomorrow morning.
Here’s what likely will occur if GO adjusts service tomorrow.
- Only the trains leaving Richmond Hill GO Station at 6:55 a.m. and at 7:55 a.m. will operate, serving Langstaff GO Station before detouring on an alternate rail corridor to Union. These two trains would likely arrive in Union from 45 minutes to an hour later than schedule because of the detour.
- Passengers from Old Cummer and Oriole GO Stations can use their tickets to board TTC buses or the subway at Leslie Station. Passengers should enter the subway through a staffed entrance by presenting their GO tickets for travel on the TTC.
- Passengers can also use their Richmond Hill line GO tickets to travel along other GO train services on the 65 Barrie line at Maple or Rutherford GO Stations or along the 71 Stouffville line at Milliken or Unionville GO Stations or any other station. You also have the option of using York Region Transit buses operating along the Viva blue or 99 Yonge route to bus to Finch GO Bus Terminal and board the subway at Finch Station, where you could connect with the subway to Union, using your GO tickets.
GO will update service information before the morning commute and recommends that you also check for media updates before you prepare to leave tomorrow morning. The morning commute will likely be busy so arrive early and give yourselves lots of extra time.
