Introducing new routes

21 Explorer

Starting Monday, October 22, MiWay introduces this new route serving stops between City Centre Terminal and Skymark Hub on Skymark Avenue between Commerce Boulevard and Explorer Drive Mondays to Fridays only during rush hours.

Buses serving the new route replace most of the southern end of the former [18] Northwest - Explorer route, but operate more frequently, dropping off passengers every 22 minutes, instead of 24½ minutes during morning rush hours and every 29 minutes during afternoon rush hours.

Eastbound buses start their trips at City Centre Terminal, then proceed:

eastward along Rathburn Roads West and East;
northward along Tomken Road;
east- and northward along Eastgate Parkway;
northward along Creekbank Road;
eastward along Matheson Boulevard East;
north- east- and southward along Explorer Drive;
eastward along Matheson East;
southward along Commerce Boulevard; and then
westward along Skymark Avenue to Skymark Hub,
ending their trips.

Westbound buses start their trips at Skymark Hub, then proceed:

westward along Skymark Avenue;
north-, west- and southward along Explorer Drive;
westward along Matheson East;
southward along Creekbank Road;
south- and westward along Eastgate Parkway; and then
westward along Rathburn Roads East and West to City Centre Terminal,
ending their trips.

Westbound buses serve new stops

• on Explorer Drive south of Matheson Boulevard East and across from Satellite Drive.

All buses serving the new route are accessible.

24 Northwest

Starting Monday, October 22, MiWay introduces this new route serving stops between Westwood Terminal and Skymark Hub on Skymark Avenue between Commerce Boulevard and Explorer Drive Mondays to Fridays only during rush hours.

Buses serving the new route replace most of the northern end of the former [18] Northwest - Explorer route, but operate less frequently during morning rush hours and more frequently during afternoon rush hours, dropping off passengers every 27 minutes, instead of 24½ minutes during morning rush hours and every 29 minutes during afternoon rush hours.

Southbound buses start their trips in Westwood Terminal, then proceed:

Canceling a route

18 Northwest - Explorer

Friday, October 19 was the last day that MiWay operated buses along the route. Starting Tuesday, October 22, buses operate along the 21 Explorer and 24 Northwest routes, replacing most service along the former route.

With this change, buses serving the new 21 Explorer route operate along the entire length of Explorer Drive instead of diverting along Satellite and Orbitor Drives. MiWay no longer operates buses along Orbitor north of Matheson Boulevard East, but buses operating along the 51 **Creekbank route continue to serve Satellite Drive.

Buses serving the new 24 Northwest route do not drop off or pick up passengers along Dixon and Airport Roads between Carlingview Drive and American Road or along American between Airport and Viscount Roads. MiWay buses operating along the 7 Airport route continue to serve Dixon and Airport west of Carlingview. No MiWay buses operate along American Road west of Viscount.

MiWay buses no longer serve the former route 18 north- and southbound stops on American Road just west of Airport Road.

107 Malton express

Starting Monday, October 22, MiWay extends the route eastward beyond Westwood Terminal to Humber College’s North Campus.

Southbound buses start their trips at a stop at parking lot 7 off Humber College Boulevard near the main college entrance, then proceed:

northward along Humber College Boulevard;
westward along Humberline Drive;
southward along Humberwoods Boulevard;
westward along Morningstar Drive; and then
southward into Westwood Terminal.

The buses then resume the former southbound route.

Buses make no stops between Humber College and Westwood.

Northbound buses stop at the layby on Morningstar Drive, instead of entering Westwood Terminal, then reverse the southbound route to Humber College.

MiWay is also increasing service along the route.

38 Creditview

Starting Monday, October 22, MiWay increases service by operating a bus on a new southbound Monday-to-Friday trip along the route.

The bus leaves Creditview Road south of Britannia Road West at 6:44 a.m. Mondays to Fridays. The new trip improves service for passengers connecting with the eastbound GO Transit train that leaves Erindale GO Station at 7:05 a.m.

MiWay is also adjusting the schedule of the route.

201 Dundas

Starting Monday, October 22, MiWay increases service by operating buses on new east- and westbound trips along the route.

An eastbound bus leaves South Common Centre Terminal at 2:29 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. Two new westbound buses leave Islington Station at 9:21 and 9:50 a.m.

35 Eglinton

Starting Monday, October 22, MiWay operates buses on new trips in both directions along the route.

An eastbound bus leaves Eglinton Avenue East East of Hurontario Street at 7:24 a.m. A westbound bus leaves Islington Station at 8:07 a.m. Mondays to Fridays.

MiWay is also adjusting the schedule of the route.

107 Malton express

Starting Monday, October 22, MiWay increases service by operating buses along the route Monday-to-Friday midday. Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops every 28 minutes from about 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. Buses continue to serve stops every 16 to 18 minutes during rush hours.

MiWay is also extending the route.

76 City Centre - Subway

Starting Monday, October 22, MiWay increases service by operating a bus on a new westbound trip along the route. The bus leaves Islington Station at 10:21 a.m. Mondays to Fridays.

36 Colonial loop

Starting Monday, October 22, the bus that usually leaves South Common Centre Terminal at 6:26 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, three minutes later at 6:29 p.m. to improve service for passengers connecting with buses operating along the 26 Burnhamthorpe route at South Common Centre and the 45 Winston Churchill route at Winston Churchill Boulevard and Burnhamthorpe Road West.

38 Creditview

Starting Monday, October 22, the southbound bus that usually leaves Creditview Road south of Britannia Road West at 2:25 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, one minute earlier at 2:24 p.m.

MiWay is also increasing service along the route.

6 Credit Woodlands

Starting Monday, October 22, the eastbound bus that usually leaves Dundas Street West west of Erindale Station Road at 5:17 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, two minutes earlier at 5:15 a.m. By operating an earlier trip, MiWay improves service for passengers connecting with a northbound bus operating along the 38 Creditview route.

42 Derry

Starting Monday, October 22, the westbound bus that usually leaves Westwood Terminal at 4:06 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, three minutes earlier at 4:03 p.m.

35 Eglinton

Starting Monday, October 22, the eastbound bus that usually leaves Eglinton Avenue and Creditview Road at 4:29 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, instead leaves Erin Centre and Winston Churchill Boulevards 14 minutes earlier at 4:16 p.m.

MiWay is also increasing service along the route.

22 Finch

Starting Monday, October 22, MiWay operates less frequent service along the route, since it’s also extending the [107] Malton express route to Humber College’s North Campus that day.

Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops along the route every 18 minutes, instead of every 13 minutes, all day Mondays to Fridays.

13 Glen Erin

Starting Monday, October 22, the southbound bus that usually leaves Meadowvale Town Centre Terminal at 4:42 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, 14 minutes later at 4:56 p.m. By operating a later trip, MiWay improves service for passengers transferring from the northbound bus operating along the 44 Mississauga Road route that arrives in Meadowvale at 4:52 p.m.

The northbound bus that usually leaves Clarkson GO Station terminal at 5:56 p.m. leaves, instead, six minutes earlier at 5:50 p.m. By operating an earlier trip, MiWay improves service for passengers transferring from the westbound GO Transit train that arrives in Clarkson at 5:45 p.m. The earlier trip also improves service for passengers connecting with buses operating along the 26 Burnhamthorpe and 110 University express routes at South Common Centre Terminal.

91 Hillcrest

Starting Monday, October 22, MiWay increases service by operating a bus on a new southbound trip along the route. The bus leaves City Centre Terminal at 6:24 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

19 Hurontario

Starting Monday, October 22, the southbound bus that usually leaves Hurontario Street south of Britannia Road West at 7 a.m. Mondays to Fridays, leaves, instead, two minutes later at 7:02 a.m.

23 Lakeshore

Starting Monday, October 22, the westbound bus that usually leaves Long Branch GO Station at 4:20 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, two minutes later at 4:22 p.m. The bus arrives in Port Credit GO Station terminal at 4:40 p.m., improving service for passengers transferring from the westbound GO Transit train that arrives in Port Credit at 4:36 p.m.

The eastbound bus that usually leaves Clarkson GO Station terminal at 5 p.m. leaves, instead, two minutes later at 5:02 p.m.

49 McDowell

Starting Monday, October 22, the westbound bus that usually leaves Erin Mills Town Centre Terminal at 10 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, eight minutes earlier at 9:52 a.m.

The eastbound bus that usually leaves Thomas Street east of Ninth Line at 10:17 a.m. leaves, instead, eight minutes earlier at 10:09 a.m. By operating an earlier eastbound bus, MiWay improves service for passengers connecting with a southbound bus operating along the 48 Erin Mills route, leaving Erin Mills Town Centre at 10:30 a.m.

49A McDowell - Streetsville GO

Starting Monday, October 22, MiWay increases service by operating a bus on a new westbound trip along the route. The bus leaves Streetsville GO Station at 4:46 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, improving service for passengers transferring from the westbound GO Transit train that arrives in Streetsville at 4:38 p.m.

9 Rathburn - Miller’s Grove

Starting Monday, October 22, the northbound bus that usually leaves City Centre Terminal at 2:48 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, one minute later at 2:49 p.m.

4 Sherway Gardens

Starting Saturday, October 27, the eastbound bus that usually leaves Glengarry Road south of Dundas Street West at 7:50 a.m. Saturdays leaves, instead, three minutes later at 7:53 a.m. By operating a later trip, MiWay improves service for passengers connecting to the southbound bus operating along the 5 Dixie route that leave Dixie Outlet Mall at 8:27 a.m.

41A Thomas - Streetsville GO

Starting Monday, October 22, MiWay increases service by operating a bus on a new westbound trip along the route. The bus leaves Streetsville GO Station at 4:45 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, improving service for passengers transferring from the westbound GO Transit train that arrives in Streetsville at 4:38 p.m.

11 Westwood

Starting Monday, October 22, MiWay increases service by operating buses along new trips in both directions along the route at the end of the morning rush hour and at the start of the afternoon rush hours.

Southbound buses leave Westwood Terminal at 2:06 and 2:48 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. Northbound buses leave Islington Station at 8:55, 9:18 and 9:40 p.m.

45 Winston Churchill

Starting Monday, October 22, the southbound bus that usually leaves Meadowvale Town Centre Terminal at 7:12 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves, instead, two minutes earlier at 7:10 a.m. By operating an earlier trip, MiWay improves service for passengers connecting with the eastbound express GO Transit train that leaves Clarkson GO Station at 7:58 a.m.
