TTC revises services, October 7



The TTC revises service along many of its routes starting tomorrow, Sunday, October 7

This time, it’s mostly increasing the frequency of service along the routes, to respond to continuous growth in the numbers of passengers riding TTC vehicles. For the most, these changes affect all time periods, but, particularly during the rush hours.

Specifically, the TTC is: increasing service along current routes; decreasing service along current routes; increasing the frequency of service along current routes; decreasing the frequency of service along current routes; and adjusting the schedule of a current route.


Increasing service along current routes


26 Dupont

Starting Tuesday, October 9, the TTC operates a bus on a new eastbound trip along the route Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours. The bus leaves Jane Station at 7:15 a.m.

72A Pape via Commissioners

Since fewer people are traveling to and from Cherry Beach in the fall and winter, starting Sunday, October 7, the TTC cancels service along the 72B Pape via Commissioners & Cherry branch until next spring. It also resumes service along the 72A Pape via Commissioners branch Mondays to Saturdays at all times and Sundays and holidays before 10 p.m.

(Buses no longer operate along Carlaw Avenue south of Queen Street East, Commissioners and Cherry Streets, The Esplanade and other streets Sundays and holidays after 10 p.m.)


Decreasing service along current routes


28A Davisville

Sunday, September 30 was the last day that the TTC operated buses along this branch of the route to and from the Evergreen Brickworks Sundays and holidays.

72B Pape via Commissioners & Cherry

Since fewer people are traveling to and from Cherry Beach in the fall and winter, Saturday, October 6 is the last day until spring that the TTC operates buses along this branch of the route.

Buses resume service along the 72A Pape via Commissioners branch Mondays to Saturdays at all times and Sundays and holidays before 10 p.m.

The TTC is operating one more bus along the route to increase the frequency of service Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.

Starting Tuesday, October 9, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops on the route every 12 minutes, instead of every 16 minutes, during morning rush hours. They serve stops on the route every 8½ minutes, instead of every 10 minutes 20 seconds, during afternoon rush hours.

61 Avenue Rd North

The TTC is operating one more bus along the route to increase the frequency of service Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours.

Starting Tuesday, October 9, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops on the route every 10 minutes, instead of every 12 minutes.

11 Bayview

The TTC is operating one more bus along the route to increase the frequency of service Monday-to-Friday midday.

Starting Tuesday, October 9, buses serve stops on the route every 18 minutes, instead of every 24 minutes, Mondays to Fridays from about 7 until 10 p.m.

17 Birchmount

The TTC is operating one more bus along the route to increase the frequency of service early Sunday-and-holiday evenings and Saturday afternoons.

Starting Sunday, October 7, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops on the route every 24 minutes, instead of every 30 minutes, Sundays and holidays from about 7 until 10 p.m.

Starting Saturday, October 13, buses serve stops on the route every 15 minutes, instead of every 18 minutes, Saturdays from about noon until 7 p.m.

21 Brimley

Starting Tuesday, October 7, the TTC splits the route into two branches Monday-to-Friday midday. (It already splits the route into two Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.)

Buses serving the 21A branch operate between Scarborough Centre and Kennedy Stations. Buses serving the 21B branch operate between Steeles Avenue East and Scarborough Centre Station.

It’s also increasing the frequency of service along the route north of Scarborough Centre Station.

21 Brimley

The TTC is operating one more bus along the route to increase the frequency of service north of Scarborough Centre Station Monday-to-Friday midday.

Starting Tuesday, October 9, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops on the 21B branch of the route every 14 minutes, instead of every 20 minutes, Mondays to Fridays from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The TTC is also splitting the route into two branches during the same time of the week.

506 Carlton

The TTC is operating one more streetcar along the route to increase the frequency of service early Monday-to-Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons.

Starting Tuesday, October 9, cars drop off or pick up passengers at stops on the route every 7½ minutes, instead of every 8 minutes, Mondays to Fridays from about 7 until 10 p.m.

Starting Saturday, October 13, cars serve stops on the route every 6 minutes 20 seconds, instead of every 6 minutes 40 seconds, Saturdays from about noon until 7 p.m.

The TTC is also decreasing the frequency of service along the route at other times of the week.

The buses serve stops on the entire route every 5½ minutes, instead of every 6 minutes during afternoon rush hours.

42 Cummer

The TTC is operating one more bus along the route to increase the frequency of service Sunday-and-holiday mornings and early evenings, Monday-to-Friday midday and Saturday mornings.

The TTC is operating one more bus along the route to increase the frequency of service early Sunday-and-holiday evenings and Monday-to-Friday midday.

The TTC resumes streetcar service along the route. It’s also operating one more car than it did formerly to increase the frequency of service along the route Mondays to Fridays during afternoon rush hours.

Starting Tuesday, October 9, the cars drop off or pick up passengers at stops on the route every 12 minutes, instead of every 15 minutes. With streetcars also operating as frequently along the 503 Kingston Rd tripper route, the cars serve stops on Kingston Road between Victoria Park Avenue and Queen Street East every 6 minutes, instead of every 7½ minutes.

125 Drewry

The TTC is operating one more bus along the route to increase the frequency of service Saturday mornings and afternoons.

Starting Saturday, October 13, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops on the route every 15 minutes, instead of every 30 minutes, Saturdays before 7 p.m.

29 Dufferin

The TTC is operating more bus along the route to increase the frequency of service Mondays to Fridays and Saturdays. It operates three more buses Monday-to-Friday midday and two more during afternoon rush hours. It operates eight more Saturday afternoons.

Starting Tuesday, October 9, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops on the entire route every 3 minutes 20 seconds, instead of every 3 minutes 40 seconds, Mondays to Fridays from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

They serve stops north of Tycos Drive and south of Queen Street West every 5 minutes 40 seconds, instead of every 6 minutes, during afternoon rush hours. They serve stops between Tycos and Queen West every 2 minutes 50 seconds, instead of every 3 minutes.

Starting Saturday, October 13, they serve stops north of Queen West every 2½ minutes, instead of every 3 minutes Saturdays from about noon until 7 p.m. They serve stops south of Queen West every 5 minutes, instead of every 6 minutes.

105 Dufferin North

The TTC is operating one more bus along the route to increase the frequency of service south of Steeles Avenue West Monday-to-Friday midday and early evenings and Saturday mornings and afternoons.

Starting Saturday, October 13, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops west of Emmett Avenue and northwest of Eglinton Avenue West and Trethewey Drive every 9 minutes, instead of every 10 minutes, Saturdays from about 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. They serve stops on Eglinton West between Emmett and Trethewey every 7 minutes 48 seconds, instead of every 8 minutes 34 seconds. They serve stops between Trethewey and Eglinton West Station every 3 minutes 54 seconds, instead of every 4 minutes 17 seconds. The buses serve stops west and northwest of Eglinton Avenue West and Trethewey Drive every 18 minutes, instead of every 20 minutes, after 10 p.m. Saturdays. They serve stops east of Eglinton and Trethewey every 9 minutes, instead of every 10 minutes.

100 Flemingdon Park

The TTC resumes streetcar service along the route. It’s also operating one more car than it did formerly to increase the frequency of service along the route Mondays to Fridays during afternoon rush hours.

The TTC is operating one more bus along the route to increase the frequency of service Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.

The TTC is operating one more bus along the route to increase the frequency of service Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours and midday.

Starting Tuesday, October 9, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops south of Lansdowne Avenue and St. Clair Avenue West every 5 minutes, instead of every 5½ minutes, during morning rush hours. They serve stops between Caledonia and Orfus Roads and Lansdowne and St. Clair West every 10 minutes, instead of every 11 minutes. They serve stops north and east of Caledonia and Orfus every 20 minutes, instead of every 22 minutes.

The buses serve stops south of Lansdowne and St. Clair West every 7½ minutes, instead of every 10 minutes, from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. They serve stops north of Lansdowne and St. Clair West every 15 minutes, instead of every 20 minutes.

54 Lawrence East

The TTC is operating more buses along the route to increase the frequency of service Monday-to-Friday midday and early evenings.

Starting Tuesday, October 9, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops west of Scarborough Golf Club Road every 6 minutes 23 seconds, instead of every 6½ minutes, Mondays to Fridays from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. They serve stops east of Scarborough Golf Club every 12 minutes 46 seconds, instead of every 13 minutes.

The buses serve stops west of Scarborough Golf Club every 9 minutes 10 seconds, instead of every 10 minutes, from 7 until 10 p.m. They serve stops east of Scarborough Golf Club every 18 minutes 20 seconds, instead of every 20 minutes.

The TTC is also decreasing the frequency of service along the route at other times of the week.

54 Lawrence East

The TTC is increasing the running time - how long drivers need to complete a round trip along the route - Monday-to-Friday during afternoon rush hours. That results in slightly less frequent service along the route.

Starting Tuesday, October 9, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops west of Scarborough Golf Club Road every 3½ minutes, instead of every 3 minutes 20 seconds. They serve stops east of Scarborough Golf Club every 7 minutes, instead of every 6 minutes 40 seconds.

The TTC is also increasing the frequency of service along the route at other times of the week.

54E Lawrence East express

The TTC is increasing the running time - how long drivers need to complete a round trip along the route - Monday-to-Friday during afternoon rush hours. That results in slightly less frequent service along the route.
