Last Thursday, September 13, Metrolinx contractors started work to widen the bridges at Kipling Avenue, Martin Grove Road and Highway 427 as part of the project to expand the Georgetown South Rail Corridor and build the Air Rail Link.
They’ll be adding new spans to all three bridges to accommodate more tracks below. They also recently finished building a retaining wall at a fourth bridge, carrying Highway 427 across the tracks.
During the work, GO Transit will close 18 parking spots in the north parking lot at Etobicoke North GO Station, so that contractors can store construction equipment.
The work continues until August 31, 2013.
