Milton bridge construction affects GO bus service,
August 24, 25, 26, 27



The Town of Milton is closing

  • Main Street East Milton between Wilson Drive and the entrance to Milton Mall

tonight, Friday, August 24 and all day Saturday, August 25 and Sunday, August 26.

while contractors continue a project to build a “grade separation” — an overpass — across the tracks of the Canadian Pacific Railway’s Galt Subdivision.

GO Transit is detouring buses operating along the 21 Milton / Toronto route, while the road is closed.

Construction started Wednesday, April 11 and continues for about two years. The Town also closed the roadway the weekends of Saturday, May 5 and Sunday, May 6 and Saturday, May 12 and Sunday, May 13.

From 9 p.m. Friday, August 24 until 6 a.m. Monday, August 27, all buses start and end their trips in the Milton GO Station bus terminal, instead of on Martin Street north of Main Street East.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Martin Street north of Main Street East and
  • on Main Street East at Court Street South, east of Ontario Street South and across from Wilson Drive.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Main Street East at Wilson Drive and Ontario and Court Streets North and
  • on Martin Street north of Main Street East.
