The City of Toronto is hosting the 2012 Ontario Summer Games from the opening ceremony in Varsity Stadium tonight, Thursday, August 16 until Sunday, August 19.
The 2012 Games bring together nearly 2,500 athletes, competing in 28 sports at multiple venues across Toronto and the nearby region and 368 coaches, 113 managers, 281 officials, 21 provincial sport organization representatives, more than 1,000 volunteers and thousands of spectators.
The Games are a unique opportunity for many young athletes, as the multi-sport competition serves as a stepping stone to many national and international competitions.
How can you get to watch these young athletes compete and cheer them on, if you don’t have a car? By public transit, of course!
