You may call it Civic Holiday or Simcoe Day — Hamiltonians call it “George Hamilton Day” and, if you live in Guelph, you may even call it “John Galt Day” — but whatever you call it, you’re probably getting a holiday this Monday, August 6.
Transit agencies throughout the Greater Toronto Area, Hamilton and the Golden Horseshoe are adjusting their service and schedules.
Barrie Transit
Unlike most statutory holidays, Barrie Transit is operating buses along all routes that usually have Sunday service. The buses operate every hour from about 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.
