Eglinton Crosstown LRT: Plans for maintenance facility
and extending the line further west

Metrolinx and the TTC hosted an open house Tuesday, June 26 to reveal their plans to build a transit vehicle storage and maintenance facility Eglinton-Scarborough Crosstown light rail transit line and to extend the line further west beyond Black Creek Drive to Jane Street.

They plan to build the maintenance facility or carhouse on the former Kodak lands on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West, west of Black Creek Drive.

They plan to build two more stations, one at Jane Street and another slightly east of Weston Road, which they’re tentatively naming “Weston Rd / Mt Dennis”. They hope to link to GO trains at the new Weston Rd / Mt Dennis Station in the future and they’ll build a bus terminal with room for 15 bus bays on part of the Kodak lands near that station.

They’re still finalizing the plans for the route, but this version shows the trains on an elevated structure north of Eglinton and west of Black Creek Drive, re-entering a tunnel just east of the Weston Rd / Mt Dennis Station. They line remains underground until Jane Street.

We’re late in posting this, but, even if you missed the event, you can still comment on the plans. Unfortunately, you only have until Tuesday, July 10 to do it.
