GO Transit is again offering seasonal GO train service between Niagara Falls and Toronto every Saturday, Sunday and and holiday starting tomorrow, Saturday, June 23 until Labour Day, Monday, September 3.
Trains operate along the 12 Niagara Falls line Friday evenings and several times each Saturday, Sunday and holiday, dropping off or picking up passengers at Union Station, Exhibition, Port Credit, Oakville and Burlington GO stations and St. Catharines and Niagara Falls VIA Rail stations.
Every Saturday, Sunday and holiday excursion train includes two bike coaches. The bike coaches are special rail cars for your bicycles. These are the sixth and seventh cars from the locomotive and each can hold 18 bikes on the lower level. Bring a lock to secure their bikes while they enjoy the comfortable ride on the upper levels.
Special bike coaches are not available on the Friday-evening service.
All regular coaches can hold two bikes each, but make sure you keep the doorways clear of bicycles. “No bike permitted” signs identify the doorway area. Also, you cannot take your bike on the wheelchair-accessible car due to space limitations.
This year, Niagara train passengers can also transfer to GO buses to Niagara-on-the-Lake operating along the new 11 Niagara-on-the-Lake / St. Catharines route. All buses connect with trains in both directions at the St. Catharines VIA Rail Station. This service also starts tomorrow and operates Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays until Labour Day, Monday, September 3.
