Here’s what’s going on this week:

At Bayview Avenue

At Chalmers Road
  • Starting Monday, May 7 the north-south crosswalk on the west side is closed for road work. Work continues until May 11.
At Leslie Street
  • Tuesday, May 8, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., contractors are closing the eastbound median lane to install a canopy.
  • Starting Monday, May 7, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., contractors are closing the westbound curb lane to complete work on the boulevard. Work continues until May 11.
At South Park Road
  • Starting Monday, May 7, contractors are closing the eastbound curb lane to excavate and upgrade the boulevard. Work continues until May 18.
Between Times Road and Saddlecreek Drive
  • Contractors have closed the sidewalk on the south side of Highway 7 to widen the roadway and the boulevard. Work continues until mid-June.
At West Beaver Creek Road
  • Starting Monday, May 7, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. each day, contractors are closing the westbound curb lane while upgrading the corner and boulevard. Work continues until May 11.

Monday, May 7, York Region Transit is temporarily relocating the stop for eastbound buses operating along the 1 Highway 7 route on Highway 7 at South Park Road to Highway 7 at Saddlecreek Drive, while contractors work on the curb lane.

Contractors will also be working on side streets north and south of Highway 7.

Work includes:

  • Leslie Street: Starting Monday, May 7, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. each day, periodically closing the northbound curb lane for boulevard work.
  • Rodick Road: Starting Monday, May 7, between 7:30 p.m. each day and 6 a.m. the following day, closing the roadway to all traffic between Highway 7 and Clegg Road for duct work. Work continues until June.
  • West Beaver Creek Road: Starting Monday, May 7, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. each day, closing the northbound curb lane to upgrade the corner. Work continues until May 11.

Passengers riding YRT buses operating along the Viva blue, Viva pink, 1 Highway 7 and 90B Leslie routes should expect delays.
