MiWay revised routes and services, May 7



MiWay made minor changes to its routes and services, starting Monday, May 7.

MiWay is making changes to these MiLocal routes: 3 Bloor; 6 Credit Woodlands; 10 Bristol - Britannia; 11 Westwood; 19 Hurontario; 22 Finch; 23 Lakeshore; 26 Burnhamthorpe; 34Credit Valley; 35 Eglinton; 42 Derry; 44 Mississauga Road; 45A Winston Churchill - Speakman; 46 Tenth Line; 51 Tomken; 319 Port Credit Secondary high school special.

It’s also making changes to these MiExpress routes: 88 Wonderland express; 103 Hurontario express; 109 Meadowvale express; 110 University express.


Specifically, MiWay is: decreasing the frequency of service along routes; revising routes; resuming seasonal service; revising service to colleges and universities; revising services to high schools; adjusting the schedules of routes; and making other changes to routes.


Decreasing the frequency of service along routes


22 Finch

Since fewer passengers are traveling to and from Humber College’s North Campus, starting Monday, May 7, buses drop off and pick up passengers at each stop along the route every 18 minutes, instead of every 13 minutes, Mondays to Fridays.

110 University express

Since fewer passengers are traveling to and from the University of Toronto’s Mississauga Campus, starting Monday, May 7, buses drop off and pick up passengers at each stop north of the campus every 17 minutes, instead of every 8 minutes, Mondays to Fridays.

MiWay is also revising the route.


Revising routes


109 Meadowvale express

Starting Monday, May 7, northbound buses leave the City Centre Terminal, then proceed:

westward along Rathburn Road West;
northward along Duke of York Boulevard;
westward along Centre View Drive;
northward along Mavis Road; and then
westward along the Mavis Road ramp to Highway 403,
resuming their former route westward along Highway 403.

110 University express

Starting Monday, May 7, southbound buses leave the City Centre Terminal, then proceed:

westward along Rathburn Road West;
northward along Duke of York Boulevard;
westward along Centre View Drive;
northward along Mavis Road; and then
westward along the Mavis Road ramp to Highway 403,
resuming their former route westward along Highway 403.

MiWay is also decreasing the frequency of service along the route.


Adjusting the schedules of routes


3 Bloor

Starting Monday, May 7, the eastbound bus that formerly left the City Centre Transit Terminal at 4:55 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves one minute earlier at 4:54 a.m.

The westbound bus that formerly left Islington Station at 5:36 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves three minutes earlier at 5:33 a.m. The bus arrives at Bloor Street and Dixie Road at 5:53 a.m., improving service for passengers connecting with a northbound bus operating along the 5 Dixie route.

10 Bristol - Britannia

Starting Monday, May 7, the southbound bus that formerly left the Meadowvale Town Centre Terminal at 10:16 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves three minutes later at 10:19 p.m. The later trip improves service for passengers connecting with a northbound bus operating along the 48 Erin Mills route.

26 Burhamthorpe

StartingMonday, May 7, the eastbound bus that formerly left the South Common Centre terminal at 4:58 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves two minutes later at 5:01 a.m. The westbound bus that formerly left Islington Station at 6:05 p.m. leaves three minutes later at 6:08 p.m. The later westbound bus improves service for passengers connecting with a bus operating along the 47 Collegeway route at South Common Centre.

6 Credit Woodlands

Starting Monday, May 7, the eastbound buses that formerly left Woodlands Secondary School at 3:03 and 3:06 p.m. Monday-to-Friday school days leave, instead, at 2:56 and 3:02 p.m., co-ordinating with the end of classes at the school.

42 Derry

Starting Monday, May 7, the eastbound bus that formerly left Meadowvale Town Centre Terminal at 5:02 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves two minutes earlier at 5 a.m. The earlier trip improves service for passengers connecting with a Brampton Transit bus operating along the 30 Airport Road route at Derry Road East and Airport Road.

23 Lakeshore

Starting Monday, May 7, the westbound bus that formerly left Long Branch GO Station at 4:52 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves three minutes earlier at 4:52 a.m. The bus arrives in the Port Credit GO Station bus terminal at 5:07 a.m., improving service for passengers connecting with a northbound bus operating along the 19B Hurontario - Cantay route.

44 Mississauga Road

Starting Monday, May 7, the northbound bus that formerly left Glengarry Road south of Dundas Street West at 4:38 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves two minutes earlier at 4:36 p.m. The bus arrives in Meadowvale GO Station bus terminal at 5:24 p.m. The earlier northbound bus improves service for passengers connecting with GO Transit trains at the GO Station.
