Future Finch West subway station construction
continues through the weekend, April 14 and 15

Subway construction continues this weekend, today, Saturday, April 14 and tomorrow, Sunday, April 15 in the Keele Street / Finch Avenue West neighbourhood.

This weekend, TTC contractors working on the project to extend the 1 Yonge - University - Spadina line northwest to York University and Vaughan continue to dig out the “station box” — the site of the future Finch West Station.

Usually, the City of Toronto’s noise bylaw restricts construction to Mondays to Fridays from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. However, the City has amended the bylaw for major transit projects to let contractors work overnight and weekends during the project, whenever necessary.

This weekend, construction continues until 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Buses operating along the TTC’s 41 Keele, 107 Keele North and 196 York University rocket routes and York Region Transit’s Viva orange route continue to detour around the work site on Keele Street north of Finch Avenue West. Passengers riding TTC buses operating along the 36 Finch West route should also expect delays.
