TTC reopens Dupont Station, after fare collector shot
during robbery attempt



TTC subway trains operating along the 1 Yonge - University - Spadina line resumed dropping off and picking up passengers at Dupont Station today after a man shot a fare collector during an attempted robbery last night.

The Toronto Star reports that a man wearing a balaclava approached the collector at about 7:30 p.m. last night, demanding cash. He then shot the TTC employee in the neck and fled the station.

Police and emergency services staff arrived within minutes. The collector, a man in his 50s, is expected to survive. Police are reviewing the security tapes to identify the shooter.

Subway trains skipped Dupont Station most of last night, while the police continued to investigate the incident.
