YRT closed Warden vivastation for construction,
starting August 19

Update — Monday, September 5, 6:10 p.m.: Buses resumed service through the Warden vivastation and along the Enterprise rapidway, Thursday, September 1.

Starting last Friday, August 19, York Region Transit contractors started adjusting the Warden vivastation along the rapidway at Warden Avenue and Enterprise Boulevard in Markham. Since that day, buses operating along the Viva green, Viva pink and Viva purple routes have been dropping off and picking up passengers at the temporary vivastations on the north and south sides of Enterprise Boulevard.

Since Warden was the prototype rapidway vivastation, YRT and Viva are adjusting various features that are still under warranty.

While the vivastation is closed, passengers can use the ticket machines at the vivastations along Enterprise Boulevards. For PRESTO transactions, you may still use the equipment at the Warden vivastation.

Warden vivastation is a construction zone, with a fence around the work area for the safety of pedestrians. Viva buses operate in mixed traffic along Warden Avenue and Enterprise Boulevard, instead of along the rapidway.

Construction continues for another week, with the station likely reopening Tuesday, September 6.
