TTC post-secondary Metropasses available
for college and university students

University and college students can buy monthly “post-secondary student Metropasses” from TTC fare collectors at subway stations and some TTC ticket-sellers in retail stores — including stores on campus — for just $99.

You can also buy your pass from vending machines in Bay, College, Don Mills, Downsview, Dundas, Islington, Kennedy, Kipling, Main Street, Queen’s Park, Sheppard - Yonge, Sherbourne, St. George, St. Patrick and Warden Stations.

If you’re a student who has enrolled in a full-time or part-time degree- or diploma-granting program in a post-secondary institution in Toronto, you may use the monthly post-secondary student Metropass, along with a valid post-secondary TTC student photo identification card. You can also use the card if you’re a full-time student at private career college in Toronto.

(Unfortunately, if you’re a student in a post-secondary certificate program, you’re not eligible to buy the post-secondary student Metropasses.)

Show your post-secondary TTC student photo ID to the TTC driver or collector every time you use your monthly post-secondary student Metropass.

You can view a list of eligible post-secondary institutions in Toronto here.

If you want to buy a post-secondary TTC student photo ID card, a TTC photographic team will visit Centennial College, George Brown College, Ryerson University, Seneca College, the University of Toronto and York University to photograph you and issue your card for just $7. You only have to get the ID card once each academic year. You’ll have to buy your pass every month.

The team will not be visiting Humber College.

If you miss your school’s photo-session, you can visit the TTC’s photo ID centre in Sherbourne Station and TTC staff will shoot your photo and issue your card. Or if you lose your post-secondary TTC student photo ID, you can replace your old card also by visiting the photo ID centre. The photo ID centre is open Mondays to Fridays from 3 until 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Replacing your old card will cost you $5.25.

You may still use this year’s pass even after classes end in the spring — until Labour Day next year. However, you can’t use your post-secondary TTC student Metropass if you’re no longer enrolled in a degree or diploma program. You’ll have to return your pass to the TTC.

Another university or college student may use your post-secondary TTC student Metropass, if they show the fare collector or driver their photo ID when they enter a subway or rapid transit station or board streetcars and buses.

If you don’t have a pass, you’ll have to pay full adult fare.
