GO revises services, September 4



GO Transit ended its summer schedules today, Saturday, September 4 and is increasing service on many routes to handle the increasing number of passengers that ride GO buses and trains in the fall.

Not surprisingly, with the start of fall classes this week, many of the changes affect service to and from universities and colleges.

Specifically, GO is: introducing new branches of current routes; increasing service along current routes; decreasing service along current routes; resuming extra service to colleges and universities ; canceling extra service to colleges and universitiesand adjusting the schedules of current routes.


Introducing new branches of current routes


96C Ajax - Finch express via Highway 401

GO is revising a lot of the service along this route, introducing new branches and scheduling some trips that skip stops that, previously, all buses along the route served.

Starting Tuesday, September 7, GO introduces this new branch. Westbound buses operate between Ajax GO Station and Finch GO Bus Terminal along Highway 401 and Yonge Street Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours. The buses stop at Whitby and Pickering GO Stations but do not stop at Scarborough Centre GO Bus Terminal.

The buses leave Ajax at 6:30, 6:55 and 7:20 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. They arrive in Finch terminal at 7:15, 7:45 and 8:15 a.m.

GO does not operate eastbound buses along this branch of the route

Buses continue to operate along the 96 Oshawa - Finch via Highway 401 and Ajax, 96A Oshawa - Scarborough express via Highway 401 and 96B Oshawa - Finch via Highway 401, Ajax and Scarborough routes. GO is also introducing another new branch: the 96D Oshawa - Finch express via Highway 401 route.

47F McMaster - Bramalea express

Starting Tuesday, September 7 GO operates a single westbound bus along this new branch, leaving Bramalea GO Station at 7:15 a.m. Mondays to Fridays. The bus operates without stopping until the McMaster University GO Bus Terminal. The bus arrives in the terminal at 8:05 a.m.

96D Oshawa - Finch via Highway 401

GO is revising a lot of the service along this route, introducing new branches and scheduling some trips that skip stops that, previously, all buses along the route served.

Westbound buses leave Oshawa at 6:10, 6:35 and 7 a.m. Mondays to Fridays. They arrive in Finch terminal at 7:10, 7:40 and 8:10 a.m.

GO does not operate eastbound buses along this branch of the route.

Buses continue to operate along the 96 Oshawa - Finch via Highway 401 and Ajax, 96A Oshawa - Scarborough express via Highway 401 and 96B Oshawa - Finch via Highway 401, Ajax and Scarborough routes. GO is also introducing another new branch: the 96C Ajax - Finch express via Highway 401 route.

48C U of Guelph - Meadowvale

Starting Friday, September 10, GO introduces new service along this branch Fridays only.

Eastbound buses leave the University of Guelph at 2:15, 3:15 and 4:10 p.m. Fridays. They arrive in the Meadowvale GO Station bus terminal at 3, 4 and 4:55 p.m. At Meadowvale, passengers may transfer to buses operating along the 48 Meadowvale - York U route to continue their trip toward York University.

Increasing service along current routes


47D Bramalea - York U express

Starting Monday, September 13, GO resumes service along the route.

Eastbound buses leave Bramalea GO Station at 7:37, 8:02, 8:35 and 9:05 a.m. Mondays to Fridays. They operate without stopping until Keele Street and Snidercroft Road. They arrive on York’s Keele Campus at 8, 8:30, 9:03 and 9:33 a.m.

Westbound buses leave York at 2:25, 3:25, 3:55 and 4:25 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. They arrive in Bramalea at 2:45, 3:45, 4:15 and 4:50 p.m. They also leave York at 4:55 and 5:25 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays. The buses arrive in Bramalea at 5:20 and 5:50 p.m.

GO also carries passengers between Bramalea and York on buses operating along the 45 Streetsville - York U, 45A Square One - York U, 46 Oakville - York U, 47 Hamilton - York U, 48 U of Guelph - York U and 48B Meadowvale - York U routes.

54B Centennial - York U

Starting Monday, September 13, GO resumes operating the single bus that serves this route. The westbound bus leaves Centennial GO Station at 7:25 a.m. and arrives at the Harry W. Arthurs Common on York University’s Keele Campus at 8 a.m.

GO also carries passengers between Centennial and York on buses operating along the 54 Mount Joy - York U route.

93 Durham College / UOIT - Scarborough

Starting Tuesday, September 7, GO resumes service along the route.

Westbound buses leave Durham College’s Oshawa Campus / University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) at 10:10 a.m. and every hour until 10:10 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. They arrive in the Scarborough Centre GO Bus Terminal at 10:50 a.m. and every hour until 10:50 p.m.

Eastbound buses leave Scarborough at 6:50, 7:10, 7:20, 7:50, 8:20, 8:50, 9:40 and 9:50 a.m. and every hour until 9:50 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. They arrive at Durham College / UOIT at 7:30, 7:50, 8, 8:30, 9, 9:30, 10:20, 10:30 a.m. and every hour until 9:30 p.m.

31 Guelph / Georgetown - Union bus

Starting Tuesday, September 7, GO operates buses along new eastbound trips. The buses leave Bramalea GO Station at 11:20 a.m. and 3:50, 4:50 and 5:50 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. They serve all local stops until Malton GO Station, arriving at 11:30 a.m. and 4, 5 and 6 p.m. They then operate express - without stopping — to the Union Station GO Bus Terminal, arriving in the Union Station Terminal at 11:55 a.m. and 4:35, 5:40 and 6:35 p.m.

It’s also operating a bus along a new westbound trip, leaving Union Station GO Station at 10:10 p.m. The bus operates express - without stopping - to Steeles Avenue East and Rutherford Road in Brampton, arriving at 10:40 p.m. It then serves all stops along the route, ending its trip in Brampton GO Station terminal at 10:50 p.m.

47 Hamilton - York U

Starting Labour Day, Monday, September 6, GO resumes service along the route Sundays or holiday Mondays.

Buses operate every Sunday, except for weeks with a holiday Monday. During those weeks, the buses operate on the Monday, instead of the Sunday.

Eastbound buses leave the Hamilton GO Centre at 11:05 a.m. and every hour until 9:05 p.m. Sundays or holiday Mondays. They arrive on the York campus at 12:40 p.m. and every hour until 10:40 p.m.

Westbound buses leave York at 12:30 p.m. and every hour until 9:35 p.m. Sundays or holidays. They arrive in Hamilton at 2:05 and every hour until 11:05 p.m.

Starting Tuesday, September 7, GO also increases service along the route Mondays to Fridays.

It operates buses along new eastbound trips, leaving Hamilton at 7:15 and 7:45 a.m., noon, 12:30, 3:45 and 4:15 p.m. The buses arrive on the York campus at 9:10 and 9:40 a.m. and 1:40, 2:10, 5:40 and 6:10 p.m.

15 McMaster - Aldershot

Starting Labour Day, Monday, September 6, GO resumes operating buses along the route Sundays or holiday Mondays.

Buses operate every Sunday, except for weeks with a holiday Monday. During those weeks, the buses operate on the Monday, instead of the Sunday.

Westbound buses leave the Aldershot GO Station at 3:57, 4:57, 5:57, 6:57, 7:57, 8:55, 9:55 and 10:55 p.m. Sundays or holidays Mondays. They operate express - without stopping - arriving at the McMaster University GO Bus Terminal at 4:07, 5:07, 6:07, 7:07, 8:07, 9:05, 10:05 and 11:05 p.m.

Buses do not operate eastward along the route Sundays or holiday Mondays.

47A McMaster - Bramalea

Starting Tuesday, September 7, GO resumes service along the route.

Eastbound buses leave the McMaster University GO Bus Terminal at 12:40, 1:40, 2:40, 3:40, 4:40, 5:40, 6:40, 9:10 and 9:40 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. They arrive in the Bramalea GO Station bus terminal at 1:32, 2:32, 3:37, 4:42, 5:42, 6:42, 7:35, 10 and 10:30 p.m.

Westbound buses leave Bramalea at 6:45, 7:45, 8:15, 8:45, 9:15 and 9:45 a.m. Mondays to Fridays. The buses arrive in the Mac terminal at 7:50, 8:50, 9:20, 9:50, 10:15 and 10:35 a.m.

Starting Friday, September 10, GO operates one more eastbound bus along the route. The bus leaves Mac at 11:40 a.m. Fridays and arrives in Bramalea at 12:32 p.m.

47E McMaster - Oakville

Starting Tuesday, September 7, GO resumes service along the route.

Eastbound buses leave the McMaster University GO Bus Terminal at 12:40, 3:55, 4:30, 5, 5:30 and 6:40 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. They arrive at the Oakville Carpool Lot (Highway 407 and Trafalgar Road) at 1:10, 4:30, 5:05, 5:35, 6:05 and 7:15 p.m.

Westbound buses leave Oakville at 7:14, 7:44, 8:14, 8:44, 9:14 and 9:44 a.m. Mondays to Fridays. They arrive in Mac terminal at 7:55, 8:25, 8:55, 9:25, 9:55 and 10:20 a.m.

Starting Friday, September 10, more eastbound buses leave Mac at 1:40, 2:35, 3:05 and 3:25 p.m. Fridays. The buses arrive in Oakville at 2:10, 3:10, 3:40 and 4 p.m.

GO also carries passengers between McMaster University and the Oakville Carpool Lot on buses operating along the main 47 Hamilton - York U route.

Starting Tuesday, September 7, GO operates buses along three new eastbound trips. Two fo the buses leave Lisgar GO Station at 3:45 and 4:45 p.m. and operate express - without stopping - until Streetsville GO Station, arriving at 4 and 5:03 p.m. The buses then serve local stops until Erindale GO Station, arriving at 4:15 and 5:20 p.m. They then operate express to the Union Station GO Bus Terminal, arriving at 5 and 6:05 p.m.

Another bus operates another new eastbound trip. The bus leaves Square One GO Bus Terminal at 7:25 p.m., serves Cooksville and Dixie GO Stations, then arrives in the Union Station Terminal at 8:10 p.m.

65 Newmarket / Aurora / King - Union

Starting Saturday, September 4, GO operates buses along two new southbound trips, leaving Newmarket GO Bus Terminal at 1:40 and 2:40 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The buses end their trips in the Union Station GO Bus Terminal, arriving at 2:40 and 3:40 p.m.

It’s also operating buses along two new northbound trips, leaving the Union Station Terminal at 2:40 and 3:40 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The buses end their trips in Newmarket at 3:40 and 4:40 p.m.

Starting Tuesday, September 7, GO operates a bus along a new northbound trip, leaving the Union Station Terminal at 8:40 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. The bus operates express - without stopping - to the Aurora “Park and Ride” carpool lot (at Highway 404 and Aurora Road / Wellington Street East), then serves all stops until East Gwillimbury GO Station. The bus arrives in East Gwillimbury at 9:50 p.m.

Eastbound buses leave York at 2:40, 3:40, 4:10, 5:10 and 5:40 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. They stop at Keele Street and Great Gulf Drive, then operate without stopping until Pickering. The buses arrive in Pickering at 3:20, 4:25, 5, 6:05 and 6:35 p.m.

GO continues to operate the eastbound bus that leaves York at 4:40 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and arrives in Pickering at 5:35 p.m.

It also continues to carry passengers between Pickering and York on buses operating along the 51 Pickering - York U local route.

The buses operate without stopping until Keele Street and Snidercroft Road, then proceed to the Harry W. Arthurs Common on York University’s Keele Campus. The buses arrive on campus at 8:20, 8:40, 9:10 and 9:40 a.m.

Starting Monday, September 13, GO resumes more service along the route.

More westbound buses leave Scarborough at 7:05, 9:35, 10:10 and 10:40 a.m. Mondays to Fridays. They arrive on campus at 7:40, 10:10, 10:40 and 11:10 a.m.

Even more westbound buses leave Scarborough at 11:10 and 11:40 a.m. and 12:10, 12:40, 1:10 and 1:40 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays. They arrive on campus at 11:40 a.m. and 12:10, 12:40, 1:10 and 1:40 p.m.

Eastbound buses leave York at 2:05, 2:35, 3:05, 3:35, 4:05 and 4:35 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. The buses arrive in Scarborough at 2:35, 3:05, 3:35, 4:05, 4:40 and 5:15 p.m.

More eastbound buses leave York at 5:05, 5:35, 6:05, 6:35 and 7:05 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays. The buses arrive in Scarborough at 5:45, 6:15, 6:40, 7:05 and 7:35 p.m.

Starting Tuesday, September 7, GO operates a bus along a new westbound trip. The bus leaves Finch GO Bus Terminal at 5:05 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, serves all GO bus stops along Yonge Street to Sheppard Avenue, arriving at 5:12 p.m. The bus then operates express - without stopping - ending its trip in Square One GO Bus Terminal at 7 p.m.

Starting Tuesday, September 7, GO increases service along the route.

It operates buses along new eastbound trips, leaving Streetsville GO Station at 8:35, 9:40, 10:40 and 11:40 a.m. and 12:40, 1:10, 1:40, 2:40 and 5:05 p.m. The buses arrive at the Harry W. Arthurs Common on York University’s Keele Campus at 9:10, 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. and 12:30, 1:30, 2, 2:30, 3:30 and 6 p.m.

It also operates buses along new westbound trips, leaving York at 10 and 11 a.m., noon, 1, and 2 p.m. The buses arrive in Streetsville at 10:40 and 11:40 a.m. and 12:40, 1:40 and 2:40 p.m.

32 Trinity Common - Sheppard

Starting Tuesday, September 7, all buses stop in the Bramalea GO Station bus terminal and no longer stop on Bramalea Road at Steeles Avenue East.

GO operates a bus along a new westbound trip, leaving Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue at 3:30 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. The bus serves all stops along the route, arriving at Bramalea GO Station at 4:15 p.m. The bus will pause at the GO Station to allow passengers to transfer from the train, then continue to Trinity Common Terminal, ending its trip at 4:30 p.m.

54A Unionville - York U express

Starting Monday, September 13, GO resumes service along the route.

Westbound buses leave Unionville GO Station at 9:30 and 10:35 a.m. Mondays to Thursdays. The buses operate without stopping until Keele Street and Snidercroft Road. They arrive at the Harry W. Arthurs Common on York University’s Keele Campus at 10 and 11 a.m.

An eastbound bus leaves York at 2:25 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. It arrives in Unionville at 2:45 p.m.

GO continues to carry passengers between Unionville and York on buses operating along the 52 Oshawa - York U and 54 Mount Joy - York U routes.

33C U of Guelph - Brampton

Starting Friday, September 10, GO resumes operating buses along two eastbound trips, leaving the University Centre Terminal on the University of Guelph’s main campus at 1:50 and 5:15 p.m. Fridays. 60 Wonderland - York Mills

Labour Day, Monday, September 6 is the last day this year that GO operates buses along the route seven days a week.

Starting Saturday, September 11, buses operate Saturdays and Sundays only. Buses do not operate on holidays after Labour Day.

Southbound buses leave the Wonderland Terminal every hour from 1 until 5 p.m., then every 30 minutes from 5 until 9:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays only.

Northbound buses leave York Mills GO Bus Terminal every 30 minutes from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m., then every hour from 1 until 7 p.m. They leave Yorkdale GO Bus Terminal 30 minutes from 8:10 a.m. until 1:10 p.m., then hour from 1:10 until 7:10 p.m.

Starting Saturday, October 2, southbound buses leave Wonderland every hour from 1 until 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, then every 30 minutes from 5 p.m. until 1:30 a.m. the following morning.

Northbound buses leave York Mills every 30 minutes from 8 until 11 a.m., every hour from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., every 30 minutes from 3 until 6 p.m., then every hour from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Starting Tuesday, September 7, the westbound train that currently leaves Union Station at 6:45 p.m. leaves five minutes later at 6:50 p.m. The train serves all stops along the line five minutes later than currently, ending its trip in Mount Pleasant GO Station at 7:41 p.m.

GO is also adjusting the schedule of the westbound bus leaving Mount Pleasant so that train passengers heading towards Georgetown cam still connect with the bus.

12A Grimsby - Burlington

GO is making the stops at the “Park and Ride” carpool lots in Grimsby and Stoney Creek accessible.

To allow more time for passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility devices to board or exit the buses, GO is adjusting the schedule. Buses have more time to complete each trip and more time to pause for passengers requiring accessible service at most stops along the route.

Starting Tuesday, September 7, the eastbound bus leaves the Grimsby “Park and Ride” lot at 5:14 a.m. Mondays to Fridays and arrives in the Burlington GO Station bus terminal at 5:44 a.m.

The westbound bus that currently leaves Mount Pleasant GO Station at 7:40 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves five minutes later at 7:45 p.m. (Since the GO train is arriving later than it does currently, the bus waits for passengers transferring from the train.) The bus serves all stops along the route, ending its trip at Georgetown GO Station at 8:01 p.m.

GO is adjusting the schedules of westbound trains operating along the 09 Lakeshore East line. GO is also adjusting the schedule of one bus operating along this route so that bus passengers may connect with the trains.

All northbound buses continue to leave Yorkdale at the same times as they do currently Mondays to Fridays but arrive in the Major Mackenzie / Highway 400 carpool lot two minutes earlier than currently. The buses serve all other stops at the same time as they do currently.

12 Niagara Falls - Burlington

GO is making the stops at the Niagara Falls VIA Rail Station, the Fairview Mall Terminal in St. Catharines and the “Park and Ride” carpool lots in Grimsby and Stoney Creek accessible.

To allow more time for passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility devices to board or exit the buses, GO is adjusting the schedule. Buses have more time to complete each trip and more time to pause for passengers requiring accessible service at most stops along the route.

Starting Saturday, September 4, westbound buses leave the Niagara Falls VIA Rail Station every two hours from 7:30 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. They arrive in the Burlington GO Station bus terminal every two hours from 8:45 a.m. until 10:45 p.m.

Eastbound buses leave Burlington every two hours from 9:53 a.m. until 11:53 p.m. They arrive in Niagara Falls every two hours from 11:08 a.m. until 1:08 a.m. the following morning.

Starting Tuesday, September 7, westbound buses leave the Niagara Falls VIA Rail Station at 5:25, 5:55, 6:45, 7:45, 8:45 and 10:40 a.m. and 12:40, 1:50, 3:15, 4:45, 5:40 and 9:35 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. They arrive in the Burlington GO Station bus terminal at 6:40, 7:10, 8, 9, 10 and 11:55 a.m. and 1:55, 3:05, 4:30, 6, 6:55 and 10:50 p.m.

Eastbound buses leave Burlington at 7:11, 7:51, 9:47 and 11:48 a.m. and 1:48, 2:48, 3:48, 4:05, 5, 5:32, 7:48 and 11:48 p.m. They arrive in Niagara Falls at 8:26, 9:06 and 11:02 a.m. and 1:03, 3:03, 4:03, 5:03, 6:24, 7:15, 7:47 and 9:03 p.m. and 1:03 a.m. the following morning.

The westbound buses that leave Finch GO Bus Terminal at 6:55 a.m. and 3:20 and 3:50 p.m. Mondays to Fridays arrive in the Square One GO Bus Terminal and all stops west of Square One five minutes later than currently. GO is revising a lot of the service along this route, introducing new branches and scheduling some trips that skip stops that, previously, all buses along the route served.

Starting Tuesday, September 7, just two westbound buses serve the main 96 route, operating along Highway 401 and Yonge Street between Oshawa GO Station and Finch GO Bus Terminal Mondays to Fridays during morning rush hours. Buses operating along the main route stop at Whitby and Ajax GO Stations, but do not stop at Scarborough Centre GO Bus Terminal. Westbound buses leave Oshawa at 5:40 and 7:15 a.m. Mondays to Fridays. They arrive in Finch terminal at 6:40 and 8:40 a.m.

GO is not changing the eastbound schedule and continues to operate seven eastbound trips during afternoon rush hours. The buses leave Finch and arrive in Oshawa - and all other stops along the route - at the same time as they do currently.

Buses continue to operate along the 96A Oshawa - Scarborough express via Highway 401 and 96B Oshawa - Finch express via Highway 401, Ajax and Scarborough routes. GO is also introducing two new branches: 96C Ajax - Finch express via Highway 401 and 96D Oshawa - Finch express via Highway 401 routes.

The buses serve stops east of York Mills GO Bus Terminal one to five minutes earlier than currently. The buses continue to arrive in Yorkdale GO Bus Terminal at the same time as they do currently.

Most eastbound buses leave Yorkdale at the same time as they do currently, but serve stops east of York Mills one to five minutes later than currently. The buses also arrive in the Oshawa GO Station terminal five minutes later than currently.

Starting Tuesday, September 7, most westbound buses leave the Oshawa GO Station terminal — or Simcoe Street South and Bloor Street — five minutes earlier than currently Mondays to Fridays. The buses serve stops east of North Rouge - at Kingston Road and Sheppard Avenue East / Port Union Road - one to five minutes earlier than currently. The buses continue to arrive in Yorkdale GO Bus Terminal at the same time as they do currently.

Most eastbound buses leave Yorkdale at the same time as they do currently, but serve stops east of North Rouge one to five minutes later than currently. The buses also arrive in the Oshawa GO Station terminal five minutes later than currently.

Starting Tuesday, September 7, the westbound bus that currently leaves Pickering GO Station at 7:20 a.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves five minutes earlier at 7:15 a.m. The bus operates without stopping until Keele Street and Snidercroft Road, arriving five minutes earlier than currently. It arrives at the Harry W. Arthurs Common on York University’s Keele Campus at the same time as it does currently, at 8:10 a.m.
