Construction at Roncesvalles Avenue and Dundas Street West is just the latest phase of a long project to redesign and rebuild Roncesvalles and its streetcar tracks. TTC passengers have faced a long series of service detours since work started on Monday, July 20, 2009, when the TTC replaced streetcars with buses.

The buses operated southbound along Lansdowne Avenue and northbound along Roncesvalles Avenue from Monday, July 20 until Monday, April 26, 2010, when the buses started operating in both directions.

Another City of Toronto project to replace the watermains along King Street West resulted in more detours for the streetcars and buses, starting Tuesday, June 1.

The City again closed Roncesvalles to southbound traffic — and buses started operating southward along Lansdowne and northward along Roncesvalles — on Tuesday, July 13.
