Transit breaks for kids during spring break,
March 15 to 19

Transit systems in Barrie, Burlington, Niagara Falls, Oakville and Toronto are making it easier for kids to get around, while they’re enjoying their break from school next week.

Barrie

Next week, high school students can use their Power Passes all day long when they ride Barrie Transit buses, instead of only after school hours or on Saturdays and Sundays.

The pass costs $25 each month.

You can find out more about the Power Pass here.

Burlington and Oakville

Again this year, kids in Burlington and Oakville can use their Freedom Passes all day during the break.

Both Burlington Transit and Oakville Transit offer students Freedom Passes. The passes usually allow students between the ages of 6 and 18 to travel on any Burlington or Oakville Transit bus after 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and all day on weekends and holidays. Next week, you can use your Freedom Pass all day and all week. (In Burlington, the pass costs $20 a month. In Oakville, you can buy a Freedom Pass for just $10 a month.)

You can find out about Burlington Transit Freedom Passes here and here.

You can find out about Oakville Transit Freedom Passes here.

Niagara Falls

From Saturday, March 13 until Sunday, March 21, students can ride any Niagara Falls Transit bus for free!

Toronto

In Toronto, you can buy a special Day Family / Group Pass that you can use every day of the March break to travel with a group anywhere that the TTC can take you within the City of Toronto.

You can use each pass for one day only for a group of as many as six people — as many as two adults with no more than four children or teens younger than 19. (Or… one adult with no more than five children or teens younger than 19.)

You can use the Family / Group Pass any day from Monday, March 15 until Friday, March 19. Day / Family Passes are also available on Saturdays, March 13 and 20 and Sundays, March 14 and 21, as they are on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year.

If you plan to use the pass to ride on a TTC bus operating beyond the Toronto city limits — or on an express route that requires an extra fare — you’ll have to add more money into the farebox when you use the Day / Family Pass.

You can find out more about the TTC’s regular Day Family / Group Pass here.
