Transit Toronto readers report that emergency hydro repairs on Spadina Avenue at Wellington Street West / Clarence Square result in detours for TTC streetcars operating along the 510 Spadina route.

Southbound cars are operating along their regular route to Spadina Avenue and College Street, then detouring:

westward along College;
southward along Bathurst Street; and then
eastward along Queens Quay West to Lower Spadina Avenue,
resuming their regular route eastward along Queens Quay.

Northbound cars reverse the routing.

The TTC is operating shuttle buses to replace the streetcars along Spadina Avenue.

The repairs require Toronto Hydro and TTC workers to cut service to the overhead wires supplying power to the streetcars and dig to enter an underground vault in the middle of the street.

The situation likely will continue throughout the day and, possibly, for several days.
