Tomorrow, Thursday, February 25 is Lunch Money Day, a campaign that supports Second Harvest and its work against hunger in our own community.
You can support the campaign at TTC subway and rapid transit stations tomorrow, where volunteers will receive your cash donations. In 2009, Lunch Money Day volunteers collected more than $37,000 in TTC stations alone.
The volunteers will be in these stations from 7 until 9 a.m. and from 4:30 until 6 p.m. tomorrow:
1 Yonge - University - Spadina subway — Bloor, College, Dundas, Dupont, Eglinton, Finch, King, Osgoode, Queen, Queen’s Park, St. Andrew, St. Patrick, Sheppard - Yonge, Union, Yorkdale.
2 Bloor - Danforth subway — Bay, Broadview, Dufferin, Islington, Kipling, Spadina, Victoria Park, Yonge.
3 Scarborough rapid transit — McCowan, Scarborough Centre.
4 Sheppard subway — Don Mills, Sheppard - Yonge.
Every day, Second Harvest picks up food that would otherwise go to waste and distributes it to more than 250 social service agencies in the Greater Toronto Area.
