YRT and GO survey passengers to help plan future services

From today, Tuesday, February 23 until Thursday, February 25, and from Tuesday, March 9 until Wednesday, March 17, York Region Transit is conducting an “origin - destination” survey which to help it better understand where you are are starting and ending your trips on transit.

Surveyors will ride buses operating along the routes that YRT contracts the TTC to operate north of Steeles Avenue. The survey will identify customer travel patterns in York Region and Toronto and help to plan future TTC and YRT routes and services.

Surveyors will display a YRT / Viva badge and ask you if your are interested in participating. If yes , they will ask you several short questions about your origin and destination.

GO Transit is also surveying passengers — on line. Last year, you told GO how you felt about its e-news alerts. Your feedback help GO staff changes the way it sends out the alerts.

As a result of your comments, GO now sends out a message when it experiences or expects a delay that is longer than 15 minutes instead of 30 minutes or more. It has refined the standard wording of the messages to be more friendly and now sends station-specific information to passengers who signed up for information who only want information about that station.

Now GO looking at ways to improve the different ways that they communicate service status information to you. If you are interested improving how GO communicates with you and other passengers, take a few minutes to complete GO’s survey here.
