Even though the Hamilton Street Railway raised fares on Friday, January 1, you can still use any tickets that you bought in 2008 or 2009 — if you throw an extra 15 cents into the farebox. But, you can only use them until next Sunday, February 28.
Starting Monday, March 1, HSR drivers no longer accept old tickets as valid fare. The HSR will, however, refund the full value of any old tickets you haven’t used. Get your refund in person only by visiting the HSR Ticket Office at the Hamilton GO Centre, 36 Hunter Street East, Mondays to Fridays (except for statutory holidays), from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
