Buses detour off Geneva Street in St. Catharines,
starting Februrary 18



The City of St. Catharines is closing

  • Geneva Street between Russell Avenue and Carlton Street

to accommodate an Ontario Ministry of Transport project to rebuild the bridge that carries Geneva Street traffic across the Queen Elizabeth Way.

The St. Catharines Transit Commission is detouring buses during the project.

109 Geneva St.
12 Vine St.

Starting Thursday, February 18, Inbound buses operate along their regular route to the Fairview Terminal, then detour:

north- and westward along YMCA Drive;
westward along North Service Road;
southward along Lake Street; and then
westward along Russell Avenue to Geneva Street;
resuming their regular route southward along Geneva.

Outbound buses operate along their regular route to Geneva Street and Russell Avenue, then detour:

westward along Russell;
northward along Lake Street;
eastward along North Service Road; and then
northward along YMCA Drive to the Fairview Terminal,
resuming their regular route northward along YMCA.


Inbound buses operate toward downtown.

Outbound buses operate away from downtown.
