You can find out more about how VivaNext — York Region’s plan for the next generation of rapid transit — affects Newmarket at a public information meeting on Monday, February 22.
York Region Transit and Viva plan to build rapidways — bus-only lanes beside the median — along Davis Drive between Yonge Street and Highway 404 and Yonge Street between Davis and Mulock Drives.
Bus rapid transit will improve transit travel by as much as 40 percent. The rapidways allow Viva vehicles to move out of mixed traffic and into their own dedicated lanes, where they will avoid traffic congestion and provide faster, more reliable service.
York Region and YRT / Viva staff are hosting this public meeting so you can learn more about the projects.
