Passengers traveling along GO Transit’s 01 Lakeshore West line are facing significant delays this evening after a VIA Rail train struck and killed a pedestrian, just west of Exhibition Station around 8 p.m.

Specifically, GO has canceled the train that usually leaves Union Station at 7:43 p.m. (This train usually arrives in Aldershot at 8:48 p.m.

TTC operators are accepting GO tickets as valid fare on TTC buses and streetcars during the situation.

Trains are still operating between Port Credit and Aldershot Stations, but passengers should expect significant delays. GO buses are shuttling passengers between Long Branch and Port Credit Stations.

This was the second incident today to disrupt service along the line. Earlier, an equipment issue delayed the train that usually leaves Union at 2:43 p.m. by 10 to 15 minutes. (This train usually arrives in Aldershot at 3:48 p.m.) The earlier equipment issue forced it also to cancel the train that usually leaves Union at 3:15 p.m. (This train usually arrives in Burlington at 4:03 p.m.)
