On Friday, February 5, the City of Brampton is again closing Railroad Street between Mill and George Streets North — this time in both directions, but for one day only. Closing the street for one day will allow GO Transit contractors to continue working on the project to install new platforms and improve Brampton GO Station.
Brampton Transit is detouring buses operating along the 52 McMurchy route that day.
52 McMurchy
From 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Friday, February 5, southbound buses start their trips at the Downtown Brampton Transit Terminal, as usual, then proceed:
westward along Nelson Street West; and then
northward along Mill Street North to Railroad Street,
resuming their regular route westward along Railroad.Northbound buses operate along their regular route to Railroad Street and Mill Street North, then detour:
southward along Mill North;
eastward along Nelson Street West;
northward along George Street North; and then
eastward into the Downtown Brampton Transit Terminal,
ending their trips.You can see a map of the detour here. (.pdf) (Note that the map indicates that the detour took place last Friday, which was the day GO originally scheduled for the work.)
Brampton Transit previously detoured buses off this part of Railroad Street — for the same project at Brampton GO Station — from July 2008 until December 2009.
