Transit Toronto reader Robert Wightman has e-mailed us to update our January 7 post about the ongoing construction at Brampton GO Station.
Robert tells us that, although work seemed to have ended for the season a few weeks ago, the contractors are back working full force. They have closed in the two stairwells at the east end of the platform with tarps and have put infra-red heaters in them. They have also started working on the south platform again and have put in the steel work to extend it two car-lengths to the east.
They have basically installed the north-side elevator, except for the final trim such as the doors at each floor. They were installing the glass work and the doors for the lower parking lot on Tuesday (January 12). They still have done no work on the platform for the easternmost cars and the locomotive area.
