Part 3 -- Construction update: Brampton

Three construction projects in Brampton recently ended and Brampton Transit and GO Transit have resumed regular service along several routes. The work included Region of Peel and GO projects affecting service along Dixie Road South, The Gore Road and Railroad Street.

Dixie Road South

The Region of Peel recently finished a project to improve the intersection of Dixie Road South and Advance Boulevard. Brampton Transit buses operating along the 18 Dixie and 40 Central Industrial routes and GO buses operating along the 47 Hamilton - York U, 47A McMaster - Bramalea,48B Meadowvale - York U, 46 Oakville - York U and 48 U of Guelph - York U routes have resumed regular service.

Construction started on Thursday, September 17.

The Gore Road

The Region of Peel recently finished — at least for this year — a project to expand The Gore Road Sewage Pumping Station south of Highway 7. Brampton Transit buses operating along the 50 Gore Road route have resumed regular service.

The project had restricted traffic along The Gore Road since Tuesday, September 8.

Railroad Street

GO Transit has been working on a project to expand Brampton GO Station since early in 2008. (Another post in this series describes the work at the station.) To accommodate the GO Transit work the City of Brampton closed Railroad Street to eastbound traffic in early July, 2008.

Buses operating along the 52 McMurchy route recently resumed their regular route both ways along Railroad Street.
