Port Credit GO Station construction continues

Update — January 6, 2010: Work at platform 3 ended on Thursday, December 24, while work at platforms 1 and 2 continues.

The GO Transit construction project at the west end of Port Credit Station that started on Monday, September 28 continues.

Starting Monday, November 9, the work moves to platform 3 at the station while GO contractors re-align the platform and tracks.

Passengers continue to have access only to the first five cars on the train (the cars closest to the engine) when boarding or leaving trains at Port Credit.

This project is part of GO’s ongoing program to improve the rails and install a third set of tracks along the 01 Lakeshore West line. The work likely continues until early next year.

GO is installing a third set of tracks along the line to improve service for passengers. Only GO trains will operate along the third set of tracks and freight trains and other train activities will delay GO trains less often.
