Starting Monday, November 2, TTC buses operating along the 192 Airport Rocket service resume their original highway route. The buses between Toronto Pearson International Airport and Kipling Station have been operating along local streets since Saturday, September 26.
While the TTC has completely re-instated the original southbound routing, it has modified the northbound route from the subway to the airport so that buses operate along both Highways 427 and 27 and Dixon Road. Buses operating along the revised route avoid having to change lanes and merge as often as buses operating along the original route. These frequent lane changes and mergers concerned some TTC operators and supervisors who worried about passenger safety. The supervisors ordered drivers to start using the temporary route along local streets and the TTC committed to reviewing the routing.
To improve the service even more, the TTC is also operating two more buses along the route, starting Monday.
