GO buses also detour this weekend
during construction on Yonge and Lake Shore

The City of Toronto project to repave Yonge Street between Front Street and Queen’s Quay and Lake Shore Boulevards East and West between Bay and Lower Jarvis Streets also affects GO buses serving the Union Station GO Bus Terminal.

(On Wednesday, we reported that the project would affect service along the TTC’s 6 Bay [maybe] and 320 Yonge overnight routes [definitely].)

GO Transit is also detouring buses serving the Union Station GO Bus Terminal this evening and all day tomorrow and Sunday.

The detours affect these routes: 16 Hamilton QEW Express; 18C Union - Hamilton late-night; 21 Milton - Union; 31 Guelph - Georgetown - Union; 61 Richmond Hill - Union; 65 Newmarket - Union; 71 Stouffville - Union; 90B Oshawa - Union; 90C Newcastle - Union.

From 7 p.m. on Friday, July 17 until 5 a.m. on Monday, July 20, eastbound buses operate along their regular route.

Westbound buses start their trips at the Union Station GO Bus Terminal, then proceed:

northward along Yonge Street;
westward along Front Street West; and then
southward along Bay Street to Lake Shore Boulevard West,
resuming their regular route westward along Lake Shore West.

90C Newcastle - Union

At 6:20 a.m. on Sunday, July 19, a bus starts its trip at the Union Station GO Bus Terminal, then proceeds:

northward along Yonge Street;
westward along Front Street West;
southward along Lower Spadina Avenue; and then
eastward along Lake Shore Boulevard West to the Rees Street ramp onto the Frederick G. Gardiner Expressway,
resuming its regular route eastward along the Gardiner.

65 Newmarket - Union

From 7 p.m. on Friday, July 17 until 5 a.m. on Monday, July 20, southbound buses operate along their regular routes to the Yonge Street ramp from the Frederick G. Gardiner Expressway, then detour:

westward along the Gardiner, exiting at the Spadina Avenue ramp;
northward along Lower Spadina Avenue;
eastward along Bremner Boulevard;
southward along York Street;
eastward along Harbour Street;
northward along Bay Street; and then
eastward into the Union Station GO Bus Terminal.

Northbound buses start their trips at the Union Station GO Bus Terminal, then proceed:

northward along Yonge Street;
westward along Front Street West;
southward along Lower Spadina Avenue; and then
eastward along Lake Shore Boulevard West to the Rees Street ramp onto the Frederick G. Gardiner Expressway,
resuming their regular route eastward along the Gardiner.

90B Oshawa - Union

At 4:40 and 5:40 a.m. on Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19, westbound buses leave the Oshawa GO Station and operate along their regular routes to the Yonge Street ramp from the Frederick G. Gardiner Expressway, then detour:

westward along the Gardiner, exiting at the Spadina Avenue ramp;
northward along Lower Spadina Avenue;
eastward along Bremner Boulevard;
southward along York Street;
eastward along Harbour Street;
northward along Bay Street; and then
eastward into the Union Station GO Bus Terminal.

At 1:20 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, Sunday, July 19 and Monday, July 20, eastbound buses starts their trips at the Union Station GO Bus Terminal, then proceed:

northward along Yonge Street;
westward along Front Street West;
southward along Lower Spadina Avenue; and then
eastward along Lake Shore Boulevard West to the Rees Street ramp onto the Frederick G. Gardiner Expressway,
resuming their regular route eastward along the Gardiner.

From 7 p.m. on Friday, July 17 until 5 a.m. on Monday, July 20, southbound buses operate along their regular routes to the Yonge Street ramp from the Frederick G. Gardiner Expressway, then detour:

westward along the Gardiner, exiting at the Spadina Avenue ramp;
northward along Lower Spadina Avenue;
eastward along Bremner Boulevard;
southward along York Street;
eastward along Harbour Street;
northward along Bay Street; and then
eastward into the Union Station GO Bus Terminal.

Northbound buses start their trips at the Union Station GO Bus Terminal, then proceed:

northward along Yonge Street;

westward along Front Street West; and then
southward along Bay Street to Lake Shore Boulevard West,
resuming their regular route westward along Lake Shore West.
