GO opens new platforms at Union Station, May 11

GO Transit is opening two new platforms at the south end of Union Station on Monday, May 11.

Passengers can reach the new platforms 26 and 27 directly from the Via Rail concourse, from Bay and York Streets or from a number of other access points throughout the station.

Starting Monday, some afternoon rush-hour trains leave from the new platforms. If you head home on the 21 Milton line, board your trains from new platform 26. If you commute on the 65 Barrie line, board your trains from new platform 27 on Monday.

Also on Monday, if you travel on the 09 Lakeshore East line during Monday-to-Friday afternoon rush hours, board from platforms 12 and 13.

Along with opening the new platforms, GO is also opening two new concourses next to Bay Street and York Street. Passengers can use stairs from either concourse to reach platforms 24, 25, 26 and 27.

On May 11, GO also starts operating new elevators to offer passengers with mobility restrictions access to the platforms 24, 25, 26 and 27. You can reach one elevator from the main GO concourse, near the entrance to the Air Canada Centre. You can reach the other elevator from the VIA Rail concourse, near the Panorama Lounge.
