Roncesvalles Avenue redesign
public meeting: March 23

As we first reported on January 18, 2008, the City of Toronto, TTC, the Roncesvalles Village Business Improvement Association and other groups have been working for the past several years on Roncesvalles Renewed, a project to redesign Roncesvalles Avenue.

The plan emphasizes walking, cycling and traveling by public transit over driving and parking. It significantly improves the street design and features sidewalk “pull-outs”, which extend the sidewalk to replace the parking lane at key intersections. The pull-outs allow passengers traveling on TTC streetcars to board or leave the cars without stepping into traffic lanes.

The City will host a public information meeting to update residents and TTC passengers about the project and the impact of the project on the street and transit service.

The meeting takes place:

Monday, March 23
6 until 9 p.m.
Presentation at 7 p.m.
Howard Public School
30 Marmaduke Street
(west of Roncesvalles Avenue,
one block south of Howard Park Avenue)

Work on the project would likely take place this year. You can find out more here and here.
