GO Transit will add more Monday-to-Friday afternoon rush-hour trains to the Lakeshore lines and make other changes to its services, starting Sunday, January 4.
The changes affect these routes: 01 Lakeshore West; 09 Lakeshore East; 12 Stoney Creek - Burlington; 15 McMaster - Aldershot; 15A McMaster - Burlington; 18 Hamilton - Aldershot; 18A Hamilton - Burlington; 20 Milton - Bronte; 22 Hamilton - Meadowvale Business Park; 29 U of Guelph - Cooksville; 33C U of Guelph - Brampton; 45A Square One - York U Express; 47 Hamilton - York U; 47A McMaster - Bramalea; 47B McMaster - Square One; 47D McMaster - Oakville Carpool Lot; 47E Bramalea - York U Express; 48 U of Guelph - York U, 48A Meadowvale - York U Express; 50 U of T Scarborough / Centennial College - Unionville; 51A Scarborough Centre - York U Express; 51B Pickering - York U Express; 52 Oshawa - York U; 52A Durham College / UOIT - Unionville; 54A Unionville - York U Express; 54B Centennial - York U Express; 90 Newcastle - Oshawa; 90A Bowmanville - Oshawa; 91 Newcastle - Oshawa Express; 93 Durham College / UOIT - Scarborough Centre Express.
Specifically, GO will: increase service along current routes; decrease service along current routes; resume extra service to colleges and universities; and adjust the schedules of current routes.
Increase service along current routes
93 Durham College / UOIT - Scarborough Centre Express18A Hamilton - BurlingtonStarting Monday, January 5, GO resumes all service along the route, but also operates one more eastbound bus along the route Mondays to Fridays. The bus leaves the Scarborough Centre GO Bus Terminal at 9:40 a.m. and arrives at Durham College’s Oshawa Campus / University of Ontario Institute of Technology at 10:20 a.m. Mondays to Fridays.
09 Lakeshore EastStarting Monday, January 5, GO operates one more westbound 01 Lakeshore West train, arriving at Burlington GO Station at 4:03 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. To carry passengers wanting to travel further westward, GO operates one more southwestbound bus that meets the train. The bus leaves Burlington at 4:08 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and arrives at the Hamilton GO Centre at 4:38 p.m.
01 Lakeshore WestStarting Monday, January 5, GO operates one more eastbound train along the route during Monday-to-Friday afternoon rush hours. It leaves Union Station at 5:20 p.m., stops at all stations until Scarborough GO Station, then operates without stopping until Pickering GO Station. The train then stops at all stations until Oshawa GO Station, arriving in Oshawa at 6:14 p.m. One more bus operating on the 90 Newcastle - Oshawa route meets the train at Oshawa to carry passengers further eastward. GO also adjusts the schedule of the route.
90 Newcastle - OshawaStarting Monday, January 5, GO operates one more westbound train along the route during Monday-to-Friday afternoon rush hours. The train leaves Union Station at 3:15 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, operates without stopping until Clarkson GO Station, then stops at all stations to Burlington GO Station. It arrives in Burlington at 4:03 p.m. To help carry passengers who want to travel further westward, GO also operates one more bus on the 18A Hamilton - Burlington route. GO also adjusts the schedule of the route.
Starting Monday, January 5, GO operates one more eastbound 09 Lakeshore East train during Monday-to-Friday afternoon rush hours. The train arrives at Oshawa GO Station at 6:14 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. To carry passengers who want to travel further eastward, GO also operates one more bus to meet the train. The eastbound bus leaves Oshawa at 6:19 p.m., serves all local stops and arrives at King and Mill Streets in Newcastle at 7:13 p.m.
Decrease service along current routes
22 Hamilton - Meadowvale Business ParkStarting Monday, January 5, GO reduces the service by no longer operating the eastbound bus that currently leaves the Hamilton GO Centre at 7:15 a.m. Mondays to Fridays. (The bus arrives at the Meadowvale Business Park at 8:15 a.m.) It also no longer operates the westbound bus that currently leaves Meadowvale at 4:45 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. (The bus arrives in Hamilton at 5:45 p.m.) Starting January 5, GO operates just one eastbound and one westbound bus along the route Mondays to Friday. The eastbound bus leaves Hamilton at 6:30 a.m., arriving in Meadowvale at 7:30 a.m. The westbound bus leaves Meadowvale at 4 p.m., arriving in Hamilton at 5 p.m.

01 Lakeshore WestStarting Monday, January 5, the eastbound train that currently leaves Union Station at 5:13 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves three minutes earlier at 5:10 p.m. The train operates without stopping until Pickering GO Station, then stops at all stations until Oshawa GO Station, arriving in Oshawa at 5:55 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. To carry passengers wanting to travel further eastward, GO also adjusts the schedules of eastbound buses operating on the 90A Bowmanville - Oshawa and 91 Newcastle - Oshawa Express routes that meet the train at Oshawa. GO also increases service along the 09 Lakeshore East route.
15 McMaster - AldershotStarting Monday, January 5, the eastbound train that currently leaves Oakville Station at 7:58 a.m., Mondays to Fridays, operating without stopping to Union Station, starts its trip at Aldershot GO Station at 7:32 a.m. It stops at all stations until Oakville, then operates without stopping to Union, arriving at 8:25 a.m. The train still leaves Oakville at 7:58 a.m.
Starting Monday, January 5, the eastbound train that currently leaves Aldershot GO Station at 3:54 p.m., Mondays to Fridays, leaves 14 minutes later at 4:08 p.m. The train arrives at Union Station at 5:12 p.m. To help passengers meet the train, GO is adjusting the schedules of buses operating on 12 Stoney Creek - Burlington, 15 McMaster - Aldershot, 18 Hamilton - Aldershot and 20 Milton - Bronte routes. GO also increases service along the 01 Lakeshore West route.
20 Milton - BronteStarting Monday, January 5, the eastbound 01 Lakeshore West train that currently leaves Aldershot GO Station at 3:54 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves 14 minutes later at 4:08 p.m. To meet the train, the northeastbound bus that currently leaves McMaster University GO Bus Terminal at 3:31 p.m. Mondays to Friday leaves 14 minutes later at 3:45 p.m., arriving in Aldershot at 3:58 p.m.
91 Newcastle - Oshawa ExpressStarting Monday, January 5, the eastbound 01 Lakeshore West train that currently leaves Bronte GO Station at 4:11 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves 14 minutes later at 4:25 p.m. To meet the train, the southbound bus that currently leaves Milton GO Station at 3:30 p.m. leaves 15 minutes later at 3:45 p.m., arriving in Bronte at 4;15 p.m.
12 Stoney Creek - BurlingtonStarting Monday, January 5, the eastbound 09 Lakeshore East train that currently arrives at Oshawa GO Station at 6:07 p.m. arrives 12 minutes earlier at 5:55 p.m. To carry passengers who want to travel further eastward, GO also adjusts the schedules of the buses that meet the train. The eastbound bus that currently leaves Oshawa at 6:12 p.m. leaves 12 minutes earlier at 6 p.m. It travels without stopping to Highway 401 and Waverley Road in Bowmanville, then serves all local stops, arriving at King and Mill Streets in Newcastle at 6:44 p.m.
Starting Monday, January 5, the eastbound 01 Lakeshore West train that currently leaves Burlington GO Station at 4 p.m. Mondays to Fridays leaves 14 minutes later at 4:14 p.m. To meet the train, the northeastbound bus that currently leaves the Stoney Creek Carpool Lot at 3:35 p.m. Mondays to Friday leaves 14 minutes later at 3:49 p.m., arriving in Burlington at 4:04 p.m.
