TTC Announces May Service Changes

TORONTO — May 5, 2005 — On Sunday, May 8th, the TTC introduces the following service changes.

New accessible service

New accessible service will be operated on the 9 Bellamy, 34 Eglinton East, and the 103 Mt. Pleasant North routes, using low-floor buses.

511 Bathurst

  • Temporary service for track construction

    Streetcar track on Bathurst Street from Queen Street to Front Street, and from College Street to Dundas Street will be replaced. During the construction period, streetcars will be replaced by buses.

6 Bay

  • Seasonal service change

    Service will be operated during the early evening on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays in the summer. The last northbound trip will leave Queens Quay at approximately 10:30 p.m.

172 Cherry Street

  • Seasonal service change This route will be extended from Commissioners Street to Cherry Beach on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Buses will run every 20 minutes. Later this summer, when Toronto-Rochester ferry service resumes, this route will also serve the ferry terminal.

29 Dufferin

  • Seasonal service change

    This route will be extended into Exhibition Place, to provide service closer to Ontario Place. Service will operate after approximately 9:00 a.m., seven days a week, except for when major events are being held on the Exhibition grounds. The extended service will end in mid-August when the grounds close for the CNE.

224 Victoria Park North

  • Route extension

    At the request of York Region Transit, this route will be extended north during the morning and afternoon peak periods from Monday to Friday to serve the East Cathedral area, north of Major Mackenzie Drive. Buses on the new 224D Victoria Park North (Don Mills Station-Major Mackenzie and Hazelton) branch will run every 35 minutes.

165 Weston Rd North

  • Seasonal route extension

    At the request of York Region Transit, service will be extended to Canada’s Wonderland, on Saturday’s, Sunday’s and Holidays, until Sunday, October 9, 2005.

404 East York Community Bus

  • Temporary routing change

    This route has been extended north on Dawes Road, west on Gower Street, north of Cedarcrest Boulevard, east on Ferris Road and south on Dawes Road to route. This extension will be in place until the 23 Dawes becomes accessible.
