How does your TTC story compare?

TORONTO, April 28 /CNW/ - There’s still time to get your favorite TTC story in and possibly win the Grand Prize - a first class trip for two on Via Rail to a Canadian destination of your choice.

On May 26th, the TTC will welcome aboard its official 25 Billionth rider since its first day of operation in 1921.

The TTC is holding a contest to select the 25 Billionth customer.

The TTC contest asks passengers to write about their favorite TTC experience. A selection committee will pick the best 25 stories.

Here are just two examples received so far:

“My favorite experience riding the TTC was the annual trip my Mother and I took to The Ex. Each year, I’d ride, nose pressed against the window of the 511 waiting for familiar landmarks to appear. As we’d turn the corner at Bathurst and Fleet my excitement would reach fever pitch. Would this be the year I’d ride the Flyer? I still make the annual pilgrimage to the CNE and always take the 511 Bathurst.”

“My most memorable TTC experience was in July of 2002 for during the World Youth Day event. I remember the subway being jam packed with cheerful people from around the world, dancing and singing joyfully in different languages. During those moments, it seemed like the world had united through love and was traveling towards peace together on Toronto’s Rocket.”
