Information for Mississauga Transit customers in the event of a TTC strike

MISSISSAUGA, ON, April 1 /CNW/ - In the event of a TTC strike, Mississauga Transit bus service may be adjusted to meet passenger demand. As customers will not be able to transfer to TTC services, lower ridership is anticipated on the bus routes that connect with the TTC. It is also anticipated that there will be heavier demand on those routes which service the Mississauga GO stations. Where practical, Mississauga Transit will reassign buses from routes which would normally connect to the TTC to routes which service GO stations.

The Islington subway station will not be accessible. Passengers travelling to Islington station will be dropped off on Islington Avenue, north of Bloor Street and will be picked up on Bloor Street east and west of Islington Avenue. Mississauga Transit staff will be available at this location to assist customers meeting Mississauga Transit buses on Bloor Street.

The Long Branch loop will not be accessible. Routes 5A and 5B will pick-up and drop-off at Lakeshore Road and Ogden Avenue. Service on Lakeshore Road east of Ogden Avenue will continue to be provided by Route 23.

In the event of a TTC strike, service delays may be unavoidable. Mississauga Transit customers should bear this in mind and plan accordingly.
