Zoom to the zoo on the TTC's 194 ROCKET

TORONTO, June 17 /CNW/ - The TTC is pleased to announce that starting on Sunday, June 20, the 194 ZOO ROCKET will be back again this summer to provide fast, frequent service to one of Toronto’s favourite summer destinations - you guessed it, the Toronto Zoo.

The 194 ZOO ROCKET (ACCESSIBLE) service will run every 20 minutes on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, from Scarborough Centre Station to the Toronto Zoo. The first bus leaves Scarborough Centre Station at 8:40 a.m. The last bus leaves the Zoo at 8 p.m. - one-half hour after the Zoo’s closing time of 7:30 p.m.

At Scarborough Centre Station, buses will use the same bus bay as the 169 HUNTINGWOOD route. Zoo Rocket buses travel via Hwy. 401, and will make all stops on Meadowvale Road, between the 401 and the Zoo.

The 194 Rocket route will be serviced by fully accessible buses, but please note that not all stops on the route are accessible. The service will run until Labour Day, Monday, September 6, 2004.

If you’re heading to the Toronto Zoo during the week, you can take the 86A SCARBOROUGH bus from Kennedy Station. Buses run every 20 minutes, starting at 6 a.m. and ending at about 8:30 p.m. The 86A also runs on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

On weekends, TTC customers can also take the 85A or 85B SHEPPARD EAST (ACCESSIBLE) services. The last trips to Don Mills Station, Sheppard-Yonge Station and Rouge Hill GO Station will leave from the zoo at about 8:30 p.m. Accessible buses on the 85 SHEPPARD EAST route will be provided east of Toronto Zoo to Rouge Hill GO Station. Previously, accessible service was only provided west of the zoo to Sheppard-Yonge Station.

Please note: not all buses and stops on these routes are accessible.
