Media advisory - New bus terminal opens at Eglinton Station

TORONTO, April 2 /CNW/ - Good news for the 33,000 TTC bus riders who use Eglinton Station. Effective on Sunday, April 4, the new bus terminal facility will be open for business.

The new terminal, located just south of the old bus platforms, will be an improvement for the customers who use the nine bus routes serving Eglinton Station. Those routes are:

  • 5 Avenue Road
  • 32 Eglinton West
  • 34 Eglinton East
  • 51 Leslie
  • 54 Lawrence East
  • 56 Leaside
  • 61 Avenue Road North
  • 100 Flemingdon Park
  • 103 Mt. Pleasant North

Bus riders will find the new terminal a lot easier to get around in with the elimination of stairways to each platform. Direct access to the terminal is now available from the south stairway on the subway platform. A new walkway connects the terminal to the station’s mezzanine level, near the entrance to the old bus terminal.

The Yonge Street customer entrance to the new bus terminal will operate as a standard automatic entrance. The automatic customer entrance at Duplex Avenue will be closed.

An elevator to the subway platform, and a fully accessible entrance, is scheduled to open later this year. When elevator service begins, Eglinton Station will become the TTC’s 20th fully accessible subway station.
