TTC service added to Morningside Heights

TORONTO, Oct. 10 /CNW/ - The following TTC service changes will begin on Sunday, October 12, 2003.

NEW SERVICE

133 NEILSON

  • New peak period service to Morningside Heights

    New service will be operated to the Morningside Heights residential area during the peak periods from Monday to Friday, on a new 133C (Scarborough Centre Stn-Morningside Heights) branch, starting Tuesday, October 14, 2003. Buses will operate via Neilson Road, Oasis Boulevard, Seasons Drive, and Canoe Crescent. Service will be provided every 22-minutes in the morning peak period and every 20 minutes in the afternoon peak period. Service can only begin if the roads in the new residential development are suitable for bus operation.

SEASONAL SERVICE CHANGES

509 HARBOURFRONT

Saturday, Sunday, and holiday service will return to spring/fall levels, to match reduced ridership levels along Harbourfront. Sunday early evening service will be eliminated for the fall and winter, resuming in March, 2004.

86 SCARBOROUGH and 85 SHEPPARD EAST

The hours of service to the Toronto Zoo will change to match the earlier closing time of the zoo, at 4:30 p.m. The last trips on the 86A SCARBOROUGH (Kennedy Station-Toronto Zoo, will leave the zoo at approximately 5:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday. The last trips on the 85 SHEPPARD EAST route to Don Mills Station, Sheppard-Yonge Station, and Rouge Hill GO Station will leave the zoo at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

165 WESTON ROAD NORTH

The seasonal service to Canada’s Wonderland on the 165A WESTON ROAD NORTH route will end. This service, operated under contract for York Region Transit, will end on Sunday, October 12, 2003.

SCARBOROUGH RT earlier evening closure ends

The earlier evening closure, which began back in March, 2003, will end, as the structural rehabilitation project will be completed in early October. Effective October 12, the last trip times of the SCARBOROUGH RT will return to normal times, the replacement bus service will no longer operate, and the 54 LAWRENCE EAST buses will resume serving Lawrence East Station late at night.
