TTC station & track projects divert streetcars

TORONTO, Sept. 4 /CNW/ - As a result of two major TTC reconstruction projects, the following service adjustments began on Tuesday, September 2 and run until late November:

Broadview Station Reconstruction & Track Replacement

Construction: A new second streetcar track and passenger platform will be added; the station will be equipped with elevators; the entire bus and streetcar roadway will be repaved and structurally rehabilitated.

Service adjustments: During the construction, streetcars will not serve Broadview Station; and there will be no streetcar service on Broadview Avenue, north of Gerrard Street. The following routes will be diverted with no significant changes to the service levels:

  • 505 DUNDAS streetcars will be diverted to loop on street via north on Parliament, east on Gerrard, south on Broadview, and west on Dundas.
  • 504 KING streetcars will be diverted to loop on street via north on Parliament, east on Dundas, south on Broadview and west on Queen and King streets.
  • 504/505 KING/DUNDAS replacement bus service will run between Broadview Station and King/Parliament, looping via west on King, south on Parliament, west on Front, north on Berkeley and east on King. Replacement buses will run every 3-4 minutes during the day, and every 4-8 minutes in the evenings and on weekends.

Track Reconstruction on King Street West - Close Avenue to Shaw Street

  • 504 KING & 508 LAKE SHORE streetcars will be diverted, in both directions, via Queen Street and Shaw Street. Customers who normally use streetcar stops on King, between Roncesvalles Avenue and Shaw, can use streetcar stops on Queen Street; board 29 DUFFERIN buses at King and Dufferin; or board 509 HARBOURFRONT streetcars at Exhibition Loop (access via Atlantic Avenue and Exhibition GO Station).
