More GO Transit service changes for this Wednesday's Rolling Stones concert

TORONTO, July 28, 2003 /CNW/ - GO Transit has changed some of its Yorkdale and York Mills bus services from what was previously communicated. The new information was released in a bulletin to GO customers last Friday and is also listed below.

Concert-goers planning on using GO Transit to get to and from the July 30 Rolling Stones concert should buy their special GO Transit Event Day Pass before Wednesday.

Yorkdale and York Mills bus service adjustments for July 30

Due to concert-related road closures in the area, we have to adjust our Yorkdale and York Mills bus services. There will be no GO Bus service to or from Yorkdale after 10 p.m.

  • Oshawa Hwy. 2 GO Bus service will only run to and from York Mills, not Yorkdale. All day.
  • Effective all day until 10 p.m., the Georgetown/Brampton GO Bus service will only run to and from Yorkdale, not York Mills.
  • Oakville Hwy. 403 and Milton services will operate to and from Finch via York Mills only. Yorkdale will not be served.
  • After 10 p.m. there will be no GO Bus service to or from Yorkdale.
  • After 10 p.m. only the regularly scheduled buses between Brampton and York Mills will operate.
  • Canada’s Wonderland service will only run to and from York Mills, not Yorkdale. All day.

Special GO Transit Event Day Pass available now

To use the special GO Transit late-night concert services, passengers who don’t already have a regular GO monthly pass or multi-ride ticket must buy a special Event Day Pass. Be sure to buy your pass before July 30 to avoid line-ups.

Lakeshore train service: If you will be using our Lakeshore train service, you can buy your special pass at the Lakeshore GO station you’ll be travelling from (special passes are not available at Union Station).

Yonge St. bus services: If you will be using our Newmarket B bus service, you can buy your special pass at the Aurora, Richmond Hill, and Langstaff GO stations (open between 6 and 8 a.m. Monday to Friday), and at Newmarket GO station and Newmarket GO Bus Terminal. Special passes are not available from bus drivers. If you are riding the Yonge C bus service, please note that regular tickets and cash fares apply.
