TTC service for Rolling Stones concert

TORONTO, July 16 /CNW/ - The Toronto Transit Commission will add service to accommodate the hundreds of thousands of people expected to attend the Rolling Stones SARS concert, at Downsview Park on Wednesday July 30th, 2003.


  • subway service during the day will be augmented with extra trains.
  • TTC customers should exit at Wilson or Downsview stations, and follow signs to the concert.
  • there will NOT be a shuttle bus service along Sheppard Avenue (this shuttle bus will not start until 8:30 p.m. as part of the service leaving the concert).
  • throughout the day, the 84 Sheppard West bus service from Sheppard-Yonge Station to Downsview Station will be augmented with extra buses. These buses will make regular stops along Sheppard Avenue.
  • all other bus routes in the area during the day will run regular service.
  • as a result of heavier passenger loads on routes in the Downsview area, longer wait times can be expected on July 30 for both regular riders and concert goers.

  • walk east on Sheppard Avenue to Sheppard-Yonge Station
  • walk south on Allen Road to subway stations at Yorkdale, Lawrence West and Eglinton West.
  • augmented subway service following the concert.
  • expect a long wait to board the subway at Downsview and Wilson stations.
  • TTC carrying capacity is 50,000 people per hour.
  • shuttle bus service along Sheppard Avenue to Sheppard-Yonge Station.
  • regular bus service to Downsview and Wilson stations will be re-routed.
