Factory blaze shuts down some GO trains

Some GO trains will not be running Monday morning because of the factory fire in Scarborough.

Shutting down service east of Guildwood means no trains will run to or from Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa, in addition to Rouge Hill and Pickering.

Service will be slow along the whole Lakeshore line, said GO Transit spokesperson Ed Shea.

And there will be no additional shuttle buses to handle the traffic.

“Nobody has enough buses to look after the number of people that commuter trains carry,” Shea said. “It could be a not very nice start to Monday morning.”

Commuters from the stations without GO train service they would have to find some way of getting into the city, he said.
