TTC fares to increase May 3

TORONTO, April 29 /CNW/ - Effective May 3, most TTC fares will
increase (see chart). The increase is 10 cents on the adult ticket and
that is prorated on seniors/students' fares (6-cent increase). The
adult cash fare will remain at $2. Pass prices will change for June
1999.
Strike-impacted April monthly transit pass holders can claim a $5
rebate in May from TTC Collectors by turning in their April pass.
Adult monthly Metropass customers can beat the fare hike by
signing up for the Metropass Discount Plan (MDP). The new Adult MDP
price of $81 effective June 1999 is less than the current $83 monthly
Adult Metropass price.
