Local ceremony to officially launch GO Bus service to Uxbridge

    
    TORONTO, April 27, 1999 /CNW/ -

    What:        Official launch of new GO Bus service
                 GO Transit extended weekday GO Bus service to 
                 Goodwood and Uxbridge on Monday, April 26, 1999. 
                 During rush hour, two morning buses and one afternoon
                 bus are scheduled to meet trains at Stouffville GO 
                 station. The other Uxbridge buses will be an 
                 extension of the existing bus service that connects 
                 Stouffville, Markham, and Unionville GO stations
                 with Union Station outside rush-hour when the trains 
                 are not operating. In all, there are five southbound 
                 and six northbound bus trips serving Uxbridge every 
                 weekday.

    When:        1 p.m., Monday, May 3, 1999

    Where:       Uxbridge Town Hall
                 51 Toronto St. S. (just south of Brock St.)

    Who:         Town of Uxbridge Mayor Gerri-Lynn O'Connor
                 Durham Region Chairman Roger Anderson
                 York Region Chairman Bill Fisch
                 Local council members and staff
                 GO Transit Chairman Eldred King
                 GO Transit Managing Director Rick Ducharme and other 
                 GO officials
                 Regional transportation planners

    The media can speak with officials from the community and GO 
Transit, take photos at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, and check out the
GO Bus at the event.
