Mississauga Transit will run regular service if TTC shuts down

MISSISSAUGA, ON, April 13 /CNW/ - In the event of a major TTC

service disruption, Mississauga Transit will operate its regular weekday, Saturday and Sunday service. Mississauga Transit will continue to pick up passengers westbound in Toronto travelling to Mississauga and drop off passengers in Toronto travelling from Mississauga. Burnhamthorpe routes to Islington Subway will continue to drop off and pick up passengers outside the station on Bloor Street west of Islington Avenue. All other subway-bound routes will drop off and pick up passengers on Bloor Street east of Islington Avenue. All buses will continue to service the Royal Canadian Legion stop. Mississauga Transit staff will be on-hand to assist passengers. Mississauga Transit fare media will not be available from the ticket booth located in the lower level of the Islington Subway Station. Passengers are advised to purchase tickets and passes at the City Centre Transit Terminal or ticket vendors in other locations within the city. Mississauga Transit passengers cannot depart from buses at the Kipling Subway Station to access GO Transit in the event of a labour dispute. Mississauga Transit passengers wishing to access GO Transit should do so at GO Stations located within Mississauga. Passengers wishing to travel to the Long Branch Loop can transfer to a Mississauga Transit shuttle bus at Hydro Road and Lakeshore Road to access the Long Branch GO Station. GO Transit will add extra trains and adjust some GO bus services in the event of a TTC shutdown.
